Historia
Spring, 1905: Free-spirited like the Thoroughbreds she rides across the Kentucky countryside, Stella takes adventure by the reins when she's asked to attend a mysterious wedding in rural England. But once she arrives at the lush Morrington Hall estate, her cold and ambitious father confesses that he won't only give away his best racehorses as gifts - he has also arranged to give away his daughter as bride to the Earl of Atherly's financially strapped son. Stella refuses to be sold off like a prized pony. Yet despite a rough start, there's something intriguing about her groom-to-be.

Clear, articulate reading

Interesting and cute. A little cheesy, but not bad. I enjoyed it, and recommend it for a light read or listen.

Historia
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Very enjoyable listen. Each narrator did an excellent performance. It flows so nicely on 1.2 speed.

A great Ruskin book that is better listened to than read because of the complexity and detail of his writing.

Worst narration I’ve experienced. Additionally it’s quiet and there is nonstop music in the background. Great book I was hoping to listen to, but it is not possible.

This gripping biography mixes intimate detail with a thorough understanding of the social, intellectual, artistic, and political climate of the time to unravel the intricate story of the misunderstood genius who wrote Kim, the Jungle Books, and the poem "If."

Frederick Davidson's arrogant voice is hard to take hour after hour. Interesting life story though.

Essentialism is more than a time-management strategy or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution toward the things that really matter.

I finally understand why I'm like a dog walking through the forest chasing every squirrel, bird and scent that comes close. I've wasted so much time...so sad...now I know what and how to change.

Made Me Cry on Construction Site
Revisado: 02-10-17
Usually if I'm moved to tears its 90% author and 10% narrator. Gallagher's treatment of certain characters (especially Charley) brings powerful emotions worthy of Dickens. A rare 50/50 partnership. This in no wise diminishes Barrett's performance. Amazingly well done by both narrators. Highly recommended.

Historia
Born to an unmarried woman who dies after giving birth, orphan Oliver Twist seems destined to slog through a dismal life in the workhouse. A rebellious cry for more gets Oliver banished, and ultimately lands him on the dismal streets of London. The young outcast finds refuge with Fagin and his band of thieves before fate intervenes and puts Oliver in the hands of a kindly benefactor. It is likely that Dickens's own early youth as a child labourer contributed to the story's development.
