Historia
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Maud who adored stories. When she was fourteen years old, Maud wrote in her journal, "I love books. I hope when I grow up to be able to have lots of them." This poignant bio was truly a dip into the dark pool that was Maud Montgomery. We see Maud, not just as famous author but as devoted wife, mother and friend. The reader’s voice was nice, although she rather read as though she were reciting a school essay; a pause between sections would have made a big difference. Still, she was very sympathetic to her subject matter. I never knew Maud was so tormented, and at times it was not easy to listen to. Worth it, though, to feel close to one I greatly admire. I enjoyed this book & will listen again.
