The five children find a cantankerous sand fairy, a psammead, in a gravel pit. Every day 'It' will grant each of them a wish that lasts until sunset, often with disastrous consequences.

The narration is almost impossible to hear - it fades in and out and is unclear. The narrator might not be too bad with more practice and better equipment but this recording is truly awful. I bought this (for under $2) to go with my kindle purchase of the book so my kiddos could listen while reading - looks like we’ll just be reading on the kindle. …and I want my $2 back!

I’ve loved the Harry Potter series since I first read it but after hearing Jim Dale’s narration I love it even more. I’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks and his is my favorite performance yet.
