Historia
In this paradigm shifting book, Dale Bredesen, MD, offers real hope to anyone looking to prevent and even reverse Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline. Revealing that AD is not one condition, as it is currently treated, but three, The End of Alzheimer's outlines 36 metabolic factors (micronutrients, hormone levels, sleep) that can trigger "downsizing" in the brain. The protocol shows us how to rebalance these factors using lifestyle modifications like taking B12, eliminating gluten, or improving oral hygiene.

Informative, but rather boring
Revisado: 08-28-17
This is read poorly, but written well. It's just heavy on the medical and difficult to slog through. The Appendix (luckily) is concise and helps us make protective lifestyle choices.
It's an encouraging treatise for those of us afraid of becoming ill with Dementia, giving the illusion of control. Whether it is truth, we don't yet know.

The Imaginator of the Century
Revisado: 08-15-17
Blake Crouch has a mind like no other. He is a ground breaker in the way Roddenberry was a ground breaker, boldly going where no one has gone before. I dare you to guess where his story is going.
He is the Imaginator of the Century.

I can't believe I actually paid for this
Revisado: 12-12-16
I read other reviews for this author, and I can't believe any mystery buff would think he is good. He is NOT a good writer. No suspense to speak of, too much narrative, characters are flat and the reader has no clues.
On top of that, the narrator is truly terrible. If I could get a refund, I would. Don't pay for this drivel.

Historia
Kathleen is the happiest she’s been in a long time, but she’s always known there was a termination date on her relationship with Blane. She just didn’t expect that termination to be her funeral. Blane’s current case is drawing heated debate and stirring the pot of public fury. A former Navy SEAL stands accused of the wrongful death of an American citizen during a military operation overseas. The case has far-reaching political and military implications. Someone with a lot of money, and even more clout, wants Blane to lose.

Sing-song Narration
Revisado: 11-26-15
I don't know what it is with this narrator. She proves with the dialogue that she can act, but the sing-song nature of the cadence got to me and I had to stop reading. I never got to the storyline.
I listened to the first book of the series and the mystery was interesting so I didn't just stop when the cadence got to me. It grated on my nerves, but I listened to the whole book. I started listening to this book, rather hoping the narrator was changed. Sadly, it wasn't, so I returned the book.
Maybe it was the director who caused this, but no matter whose fault it was, the narration let the author down. I suggest the publisher make a change.

Historia
Sue Grafton's X: Perhaps her darkest and most chilling novel, it features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this sociopath. The test is whether Kinsey can prove her case against him before she becomes his next victim.

Disappointing
Revisado: 09-01-15
I've followed this series for years, and I was looking forward to this book. I was disappointed. There was little tension, very little mystery and a totally unsatisfactory ending. Save your money. Sue, maybe you need to retire. You're rich enough already.

A disapointment
Revisado: 01-08-15
Having read the first book in the series and enjoyed it, I decided to try #2. It was a mistake. I couldn't believe the same person authored both books. Too many gratuitous sex scenes totally unnecessary to the story line (which I hastened to skip). No mystery as to who the bad guys were. The transparent addition of red herring male characters, all of whom "desired" the heroine ad nauseam. I listened all the way to the end, hoping for redemption, but there was none. Jo Robertson has lost a reader.

Unrelenting - bad guys always win
Revisado: 12-30-14
I've listened to and read a lot of Blake and really liked his other work, but I couldn't keep listening to this one. There has to be hope for the protagonist. This is unrelenting. I slogged through the first two books, but when the third had the bad guy win from the outset, I just couldn't make myself continue. It was just too depressing. Reason tells me that the good guys will win at the end of this trilogy, but it isn't worth the bad feelings to get to the end.

For Tess Monaghan, the unsolved murder of a young federal prosecutor is nothing more than a theoretical problem, one of several cases to be deconstructed in her new gig as a consultant to the local newspaper. But it becomes all too tangible when her boyfriend brings home a young street kid who doesn't even realize he holds an important key to the man's death.

I went back over and over to try to understand the story. Although the words were overlapped for only a short time, it was still disappointing. I urge somebody to fix the glitch.

Historia
After working one of the worst mass killings in U.S. history, Scarpetta returns home to Cambridge, Massachusetts. Exhausted and ill, she's recovering at home when she receives an unsettling call. The body of a young woman has been discovered on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's rugby field. The victim, a graduate student named Gail Shipman, is oddly draped in ivory linen and posed in a way that is too deliberate to be the killer's first strike.
