Historia
For 40 years, Colony 3245.12 has been Ofelia’s home. On this planet far away in space and time from the world of her youth, she has lived and loved, weathered the death of her husband, raised her one surviving child, lovingly tended her garden, and grown placidly old. And it is here that she fully expects to finish out her days - until the shifting corporate fortunes of the Sims Bancorp Company dictates that Colony 3245.12 is to be disbanded, its residents shipped off, deep in cryo-sleep, to somewhere new and strange and not of their choosing.

What an engaging story. And an ingenious culture building, like an advanced world building. Highly recommended.

Historia
When Finlay Ashowan joins the staff of the King and Queen of Daxaria, he’s an enigma. No one knows where he comes from or how he came to be where he is, which suits Fin just fine. He’s satisfied simply serving as the royal cook, keeping nosy passersby out of his kitchen, and concocting some truly uncanny meals. But Fin’s secret identity doesn’t stay hidden for long. After all, it’s not every day a house witch and his kitten familiar, Kraken, take to meddling in imperial affairs.

A friend recommended this book. It’s clever, creative, well written and just plain fun. And I especially enjoy the world building.

Historia
Courageous Minerva Peabody, a poor but passionate playwright, is cursed to be living in Elizabethan England, when women most assuredly did not write plays. Determined to succeed, Min impulsively enlists the help of the first man she sees to be her “cover”. Blake, her chosen surrogate, a handsome blue-eyed sea captain with his own agenda, is a man with a mysterious past, a wondrous pair of shoulders, and an irresistible aura of intrigue. Her Secret Desire speaks to any woman who never gives up.

Best performance yet

I really enjoyed this book, all of it... and the reader of the book was just perfect. She did the voices, inflections everything just right. She infused a humor into her voice for the main character that felt exactly right. Top quality

Really enjoyed the story, lots of interesting characters that are believable and likeable, and the narrators changing voices brings them even more to life.

Historia
One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls - a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just "troubled". Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side - learning to harness their powers, control their magic, and live in the normal world. Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she?

Not as interesting as I hoped
Revisado: 12-11-16
I am learning Spanish, and listening to children's books to help with my conversational understanding, and it is helping. So, know as you read this review that there was quite a bit of the story that I did not completely understand. What I did understand, I found a little stereotypical. The reading added to this by the voice used for the old grandfather shaman.
