Wonderful performance but,

I’m sorry. I tried to finish this book but I just couldn’t. The writer tried to make the heroine a strong independent young woman of the world, but she came of as thoughtless, prideful, selfish and whiny. The poor hero in the book just couldn’t catch a break because of her lack of self preservation and carelessness. Now the performance was fantastic. The readers were vivid and exciting. I just wish they had performed for a better written book.

to be honest the leading man was a bit dull, but the heroin made up for that. She was strong and resourceful. she was kind and most importantly not stupidity stubborn or whinny. the plot was a bit predictable towards the end but still told well. I liked this book and highly recommend it.

I have read all of the Jayne Castle books as well as JAK and Amanda Quick. I love anything arcane. the inflection in the readers voice made the heroine seam whiny when all of the feminine characters in her books are strong despite feeling alone in the world. I'm going to read this book myself and see if it was the intention of the writer but based on previous work I strongly doubt it. the story was okay but a bit predictable and the climax was a bit week. honestly I'm a bit disappointed after waiting so long for this book.
