I love this book!
Revisado: 05-13-24
I am glad I didn't miss reading this book based on the review about the "triggers". After listening to it, I did not see why that review made the statement they did. Yes, all of that is in there but it's very mild compared to other books I've read. I did not get the impression that the writer hated men either. She did have 3 stories w 3 awful men, but she also had good men, such as Violet's brother, Kate's father, and Altha's lover. I really think if you know history at all then you are aware that these things were, unfortunately, accurate for the time periods. I absolutely love the narrators. The accents made you feel like you were getting to know each character individually. I love this book and will probably listen it again and again. These women come out on top despite the trials they go through. I recommend you give it a listen for yourself and make your own opinion on it.

A heart-wrenching new novel from best-selling author Rebecca Yarros that examines the risks we take for love, the scars too deep to heal, and the endings we can't bring ourselves to see coming.

Historia
They say first loves are oftentimes the end of one’s innocence. Those words couldn’t ring truer for Everlynne Lawson, whose first brush with romance came with a heartbreak…and the thing that seems to follow her everywhere she goes. Death. After a great tragedy, Everlynne loses all she cares about—her dreams, her family, and her soulmate, Joe. Guilt-ridden, Everlynne decides to isolate herself in Salem, Massachusetts.

struggled
Revisado: 12-09-22
I struggled to like Ever. I felt she was so indecisive and weak. I didn't like how the narrator made her voice sound so airy and stupid when Ever spoke out but when Ever spoke to herself, it was in a normal voice. The story was good but I struggled to finish it coz I didn't like Ever. We read this in our book club and the ladies that read the book didn't have the same dislike for Ever but the ladies who listened to audible shared the same dislike for Ever. It's a prime example of how a narrator can ruin an experience with a book. If you decide to get this book, I suggest u read it and not listen to it for a better experience.

Historia
Tin is the most famous fae in Oz for all the wrong reasons. Cursed with a stone heart, he is the perfect assassin: ruthless, efficient, and merciless, with thousands of kills to his name. When his old friend, Lion, offers him a small fortune to deliver Dorothy to the South for his lover to wear the girl’s head as her own, Tin doesn’t hesitate to accept the unsavory deal. Magic has hidden dangerous lies behind glamor, trapped innocents in curses, and left the land of Oz in turmoil — none more so than the South.

love the story!
Revisado: 05-22-22
Only thing I didnt like is the reader read parts so quickly that it almost sounded like the sentences ran onto each other. I had to stop and re-listen several times to get a good visual of the scene in my head. I'm still going to listen to the rest of the stories since I loved this one so much.
