Historia
Every day without fail, Travis Devine puts on a cheap suit, grabs his faux-leather briefcase, and boards the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan, where he works as an entry-level analyst at the city’s most prestigious investment firm. In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. In the evenings, he listens to the fiscal news on his phone, already preparing for the next grueling day in the cutthroat realm of finance. Then one morning Devine’s tedious routine is shattered by an anonymous email: She is dead.

Disappointed
Revisado: 12-11-23
I love David Baldacci, but this book was certainly not one of his best. The main character was not nearly the strong personality that you come to know from the author’s former main characters. And the narrator was rather flat, and did not bring life to the story at all. So I don’t know which was more boring the story or the narration.

Jessica, Stephanie and Priyanka are complete strangers, but they have one thing in common: they’ve each received a letter accusing their husbands of committing a sexual assault more than two decades prior. Is the accusation true or is there more to the story? It was a secret that remained buried for years. With their worlds suddenly turned upside down, they don’t know who to trust—a complete stranger or the men they love and built their lives with.

Horrible Story
Revisado: 09-16-23
I do not usually do a review, but I felt obligated to help people avoid this tale of self righteous characters who choose to destroy their families and ruin the lives of their children for no good reason other than they want what they see as fair. The only good thing is that in the end the most self righteous of them all finds that her pious behavior was a joke! Karma

Surprised
Revisado: 11-17-22
This book is not really in the genre of those that I typically read. However it was a daily deal and I tried it. I was very pleasantly surprised. I found myself continuing to listen during times that I normally do not. Instead of the tv, I would listen to this book. I’m glad I stepped outside the box!

Good but not as much as previous books
Revisado: 07-05-22
The author got very bogged down in A LOT of history on almost every character and his/her country. While telling a backstory is helpful, giving a long history lesson is tedious. I found myself yelling “Get on with it already!” several times.

Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. Could not bear the narrator any longer!!
Revisado: 09-22-17
How could the performance have been better?
I could not finish listening to the book because the narration was so bad. I went back to it twice and just could not listen to his rendition of women and children's voices. It ruined it for me because you can't help but get visuals of characters when you hear the voice. Awful

Revisado: 11-08-13
Any additional comments?
I could not wait for this book to come out and purchased it on the first day available. I could not have been more disappointed with the story and culmination of this trilogy. It was as if another author had written the book and finished up the story for Veronica Roth. She did not stay true to any of the characters or the story line. If you like the first two books, then let that be the end for you. Do not put yourself through the heartbreak of what happens to the characters in this pitiful ending to a great first two acts.

Worst book she has written
Revisado: 04-16-13
Any additional comments?
I have been a fan of this author for years, as I am from the coast of SC and enjoy hearing about nearby places. I am accustomed to the happy endings that she includes in her books, but this one was just too much. The main character goes from the death of her husband to a move to another state, true love, writing a stellar play that is so grand that it is put on in Charleston, casting the play, rehearsals for the play, seeing a ghost, launching her daughter's hugely successful career and having a grandchild all in nine months. The only thing believable about this book and timeline is the grandchild. She should have let her win the lottery too as that would have fit all of the good luck this woman had in the book. Not worth the credit.
