Historia
Five hundred years after Luther's now famous 95 Theses appeared, Eric Metaxas, acclaimed biographer of the best-selling Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy and Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, paints a startling portrait of the wild figure whose adamantine faith cracked the edifice of Western Christendom and dragged medieval Europe into the future.

Fascinating!

Very nicely presented and thoughtfully constructed work. I enjoyed all the myth debunking throughout the narrative. Well done, sir!

Our current definition of “productivity” is broken. It pushes us to treat busyness as a proxy for useful effort, leading to impossibly lengthy task lists and ceaseless meetings. We’re overwhelmed by all we have to do and on the edge of burnout, left to decide between giving into soul-sapping hustle culture or rejecting ambition altogether. But are these really our only choices?

As an independent contractor I can relate to much of the struggles he covers here. The portion about not scaling your business was particularly intriguing to me.
Worth the listen. A great deal of thought provoking content. :)

Historia
Star for Jesus (And Other Jobs I Quit), is an invitation for listeners to spot unvarnished, amazing grace when they see it. With her trademark wit and transparency, Stuart brings listeners through both big and small moments that teach us to cling to the fierce love of God instead of the flimsier versions we find elsewhere.

Made me laugh
Revisado: 04-25-24
The stories I connected with were hilarious!
My particular favorite was the description of how her and her husband started dating and the whole tigger sweatshirt thing. I’m an Iowa born Texan myself but can still appreciate the midwestern jabs LOL.
I understand that women buy about 80% of paper books (the percentage for audio books I know not) so she probably nailed her demographic but as a 23 year old male college student there was limited points of connection for me and thus the 4 stars so take it with a grain of salt.
If Bob Goff writes the forward for a book it’s probably worth taking a look at. 🤙🏼
I listen to the writing room often so happy to support by buying the book. Thanks for the laugh and keep being you! :)
