Great story, hated the narration
Revisado: 01-22-16
What did you like best about this story?
I really liked the two main characters, especially Cade. He is very standoffish and anti social, but he is great. I love his dynamic with Aiden as they are complete opposites when it comes to their personalities, yet they seem to fit together as a couple very well. Cade's back story is also interesting.
Would you be willing to try another one of K.C. Kelly’s performances?
If he were to narrate a book that I was interested in or that an author that I'm a fan of wrote, I would listen to it, but I wouldn't pick him if I had a choice. I especially wouldn't pick him for a book like this as the narrators are college student's and his voice fits for someone who is middle age.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I cry very easily while reading books, so it doesn't take much. That said, there was one scene that got me a bit emotional.

Historia
Dawson Barnes recognizes his world is very small and very charmed. Running his community college theater like a petty god, he and his best friend, Benji know they'll succeed as stage techs after graduation. His father adores him, Benji would die for him, and Dawson never doubted the safety net of his family, even when life hit him below the belt. But nothing prepared him for falling on Jared Emory's head.

A Nice Story
Revisado: 01-21-16
Where does Behind the Curtain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Probably in the top half. I really liked it, but it didn't give me any major reactions.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Dawson, he's just that goofy, sometimes oblivious idiot who can't keep his mouth shut, but he's incredibly sweet, caring, and understanding.
Any additional comments?
I really like books that have a fair amount of comedy in them to balance out all of the angst and heart-wrenching moments, and this book didn't have much comedy. It was a bit to serious and dramatic for me.

Historia
At 25 Hank owns a small parcel of land in Australia's rural southwest where he supplements his income from the property with seasonal shearing. Hank is a "shearing gun" - an ace shearer able to shear large numbers of sheep in a single day. His own father kicked him out when his sexuality was revealed, and since no one would ever hire a gay shearer, Hank has remained firmly closeted ever since. Elliot is the newbie doctor in town - city-born and somewhat shell-shocked from his transplant to the country.

Just Good
Revisado: 01-20-16
Where does The Shearing Gun rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It would probably rank around the middle of the audiobooks I've listened to in this genre.
If you’ve listened to books by Renae Kaye before, how does this one compare?
Renae is an amazing author. She has written some of my all time favorite books, so this one really doesn't stand up to those other ones.
What about Dave Gillies’s performance did you like?
His narration for this book is great, Elliot's voice was by far my favorite. Dave Gillies definitely does my favorite narration for Renae Kaye's books. His accent and character voices mesh perfectly with her writing style.
Any additional comments?
In general, I'm not a huge fan of the Rural/ Cowboy/ Farmer M/M story, so thats probably part of the reason this book wasn't really my cup of tea.

Not my favorite from this author
Revisado: 01-18-16
What did you like best about Safe in His Arms? What did you like least?
I loved the main side characters Devon, Ash, and Paul. I didn't particularly like the huge age difference (its just not my preference).
If you’ve listened to books by Renae Kaye before, how does this one compare?
Renae Kaye is one of my favorite authors of this genre. The Blinding Light by her is one of my all time favorite romance novels. Both Shawn's Law and Loving Jay are amazing as well. I would recommend those three before this one.
Did Randy Fuller do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Not really, they all sounded about the same to me, or at least they all blurred together. I wasn't a fan of the narrator's voice in general, but I do think his voice was a good fit for the story.

Short and Sweet
Revisado: 01-17-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it is a quick listen, not too angsty, and cutely romantic.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Orlando. He is a sweetheart with thorns.
What about Kevin R. Free’s performance did you like?
He's narrated most (all?) of Jay Bell's stories, and does a good job of it. His voice just fits with the writing style of Jay Bell

Eh...
Revisado: 01-17-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
As far as YA books go, there are many that I would pick over this one. This would also not be my first book recommendation by John Green. It is still good, but there is nothing special about it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lacey and Marcus were my two favorite characters, and they are only side characters. I just preferred them over Q and Margo (who I didn't like very much)
What didn’t you like about Dan John Miller’s performance?
His voice was WAY to deep and old sounding for a book with a teenage boy as its narrator.

Up until senior year, Greg has maintained total social invisibility. He only has one friend, Earl, and together they spend their time - when not playing video games and avoiding Earl's terrifying brothers - making movies, their own versions of Coppola and Herzog cult classics. Greg would be the first one to tell you his movies are f*@$ing terrible, but he and Earl don't make them for other people. Until Rachel.

Different from other YA books
Revisado: 01-17-16
Would you listen to Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (Revised Edition) again? Why?
Probably not. I liked it a lot, but I didn't love it. It's not the type of book that I would typically listen to again.
What other book might you compare Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (Revised Edition) to and why?
I suppose a lot of people would compare it to The Fault in Our Stars because one of the main characters has cancer, but that is where the similarities end. There is no romance or great adventures. There aren't really any memories made or lessons learned.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but the narration in this book is fantastic. A full cast is a great and different experience.
Any additional comments?
It is pretty different from the movie. The movie is happier.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I definitely would if they were looking for a book in this genre. It is an amazing sequel to Bear, Otter, and the Kid, it is hilarious, and it is sweet.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved all of the comedic dialog and character relationships.
Any additional comments?
There were parts of the story that were so ridiculously unrealistic, that it made very serious moments funny.

Another Great Book from Renae Kaye
Revisado: 01-17-16
If you could sum up Shawn's Law in three words, what would they be?
Funny (The whole story is very funny)
Dangerous (characters are constantly getting injured)
Patient (Shawn's patience for his mom and Harley's patience for Shawn)
Who was your favorite character and why?
Shawn, because of his ridiculous antics.
Did Casey Hunter do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I was not a fan of the narration for this book. All of the characters have the same voice, and the story takes place in Australia, yet the narrator has an American accent.
