What a story. There was romance, action, mysteries, twists, and turns. I found myself gasping and rewinding to picture the intricate and well described fights. You learn more about bending techniques and the way the 4 nations were before the 100 year war. It’s kinda like watching a car accident in slow motion.

As a huge fan of ATLA it was a pleasure to read new content from this universe. We get a fully fleshed out version of Kyoshi, a new team avatar, and more info on Yang Chen and especially Kuruk. It’s much darker and more violent than the shows.

Absolutely fantastic

Wow, this was the first book I listened to start to finish on Audible. I finished it in 2 days. The story is endlessly enthralling and the narration is perfect. This book is such a special look into post apartheid South Africa and the realities of poverty and domestic abuse. I commend everyone who took part in it. I absolutely loved it and would recommend the audible version because Trevor does such a good job narrating it. It's his life so he tells the story perfectly, speaks different languages, and changes his accent. It makes you feel like you're really there. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!
