Historia
No one expects an angel to buy a ticket to hell. I would have lived my life the righteous way, but my path of vengeance forced me to become the monster my uncle wanted to create. When I lie my way into playing bodyguard for the senator’s daughter, I don’t expect our fires to cross or to become addicted to the blaze. Anastasia Kinsley burns the ice that froze my heart years ago, but I need to find the will to resist. Chained up in the devil’s playground, I won’t let myself lose again.

blah storyline, expected plot, lacks feeling
Revisado: 04-17-25
This felt like AI was told to write a dark romance genre and wrote a book as a collective of all the books from the genre with absolutely no understanding of human feelings. Oh poor me MMC, I've had trauma but I'm not affected FMC. very surface level writing, very strange and uneventful seductive scenes. MMC is a try hard boy and FMC is just as bad. so disappointing. I made it through half of the book. Disappointed I spent money on this.

I wanted to like it
Revisado: 04-05-25
The world that SJM wove was so enticing, I truly wanted to LOVE this series. The multiple story lines weaving in and out had me wanting more, the MMCs were to die for and completed the book. Unfortunately the FMC was blah at best. Very underdeveleloped in a lot of ways. For all she had been through she wouldn't be so naive, so girly, so...ugh. It felt as though she was two characters mushed into a half of a character. Then we get to the narrator; I cannot explain how hard it was to listen to this book. The narrator's voices for the females were okay; although sarcasm and dry humor apparently does not register with this narrator. the me. All men sounded like prissy snobs, which were clearly NOT the characters. And the pronunciation! Kill me now I couldn't get past the horrific pronunciations. I struggled through the first book and made it about an hour through the second before I gave up entirely.
