Such a cool idea, what a great story!
Revisado: 02-18-20
This is another departure from adapting straight-up Lovecraft stories. I've never played the Call of Cthulhu RPG but this episode made me want to try it out. The characters were so fun (love that they continue to bring back characters from other episodes). Loved the way the story progressed from one small investigation into strange murders to this globe trotting adventure to stop the end of the world. I thought the multiple different endings was a very cool choose-you-own-adventure idea, that I wouldn't want every episode to have but really liked as a one-off experience (especially since some were pretty dark). Hope for more like this from the HPLHS and Dark Adventure!

Such a fun episode!!!
Revisado: 01-31-20
Fans of the earlier episode of DART will definitely find this episode to be different, but I enjoyed the change of pace. I typically like my Lovecraft dark, ominous, and serious, but this was something else. This was much more an adventurous episode; it felt like I was watching the Brendan Fraser "Mummy" movies which I also really enjoy. I wouldn't want ever episode to be like this but something about this really worked, great job HPLHS!

Historia
In great cities of the world, humanity congregates, and commerce, culture, and cosmopolitan sophistication blossom in their gardens. But in the shadows that lie beyond the broad boulevards and glare of electric lights, great cities give birth to something else. In these shadows thrives a dim underworld, peopled by nefarious characters brought together from every godforsaken corner of the globe. Can a lone policeman make a stand for decency against the godless denizens of New York’s most loathsome slum, or will he find himself consumed by the filth and depravity of nameless cults?

I love every episode DART does and this one is no different. Each episode is something a little different in its own way. Instead of horrors in remote places and ancient buildings, this story is urban. It shows that Lovecraft's monsters can exist anywhere! A very cool story and another great production.

Another great work by HP Lovecraft HS

WOW WOW WOW!!!

This story is actually the second in a kind of trilogy with Robert Bloch writing the first and third stories. However even as a standalone tale, this is amazing. One of the scarier stories DART has done, there are some really great performances and scoring to this. Really makes me hope DART will do the other two stories at some point.

The ocean's imponderable depths contain mysteries far beyond the grasp of mortal men. From the adventurous mariners of ancient times, to simple fishermen of our own New England of yesteryear, mankind has found the seven seas to be both the source of life, and a watery grave. When man seeks to delve too deeply into that abyss, what appalling secrets will rise to the surface? And what will mankind do when faced with the unnamed horrors of the deep?

How do you take a short story and flesh is out for an entire DART episode? Brilliant idea, combine it with the greatest episode of radio theater ever! While the news bulletins here are quite as believable as Orson Wells' were, this is still the perfect treatment for this story. Love that its treated as a sequel to Shadow Over Innsmouth as well as the recurring characters!

A woman said to have mystical powers, in league with the darkest forces of the cosmos? An American businessman undertakes the restoration of his ancient ancestral home in England. After moving in, he's haunted by strange phenomena, apparently coming from the very walls of the legend-haunted mansion. A team of experts joins him to dig into the centuried structure's shadowed past, and its shadowy cellars. Can the investigators solve the lingering mystery of the grim and rumor-shrouded priory, or are they merely ushering in the most horrific chapter of the house's monstrous history?

Gothic Haunted House meets HPL!
Revisado: 01-31-20
This has long been a favorite story of mine and I love the treatment DART gives it hear. While staying completely true to the original story, the HPLHS elevates it even further with their adaptation. One of the weaknesses for me in Lovecraft's work is his characters feel almost nonexistent at time, its all about the events (which are horrifying and enthralling), but DART give the characters life which makes what happens to them so much more palpable. I love how each episode is something different. A straight-up horror story one episode, the next feels like playing a game of Eldritch Horror. One episode is melodramatic Indiana Jones, the next is like this episode Gothic horror, haunted house. DART is the best radio theater out there!

Original Story Well Worthy of the Mythos!
Revisado: 01-31-20
This has a more 1950's 1960's feel to it than the 1920's like most episode but it works well. I love the original Lovecraft stories but this is a worthy addition to that world. Too many modern Lovecraftian stories are just plain bad and come off as silly. This story while dealing with the all too real horror of racism, stays true to the "feel" of Lovecraft's work. I love the follow up to Legrasse's story from Call of Cthulhu. The acting is great and the characters very real. Hope there's more of these to come!

So Creative!!!
Revisado: 01-31-20
This retelling of "A Christmas Carol" was very original and so creative and well written. It was a great way to tell three of Lovecraft's short stories as part of telling a larger story rather than just retelling the stories on their own. This gave each a greater appeal especially "The Outsider" which had never been one of my favorites. While not the best episode of DART, this is still a good episode and the originality of it is so impressive!

The most horrifying episode yet!
Revisado: 01-29-20
Dark Adventure really did an amazing job bringing the most horrifying aspects of this stories to life. The witch's presence coming ever closer, the hideous Brown Jenkins, and the terrible climax of the story are all conveyed perfectly. This is the darkest episode DART has done yet and I love it!
