Historia
Charles Preston Carmichael is the most infuriating man I've ever met. I want to sock the golden boy of college hockey right in the mouth. He enjoys telling me everything I'm messing up—publicly. And since he's my roommate for the next year, I can't avoid him. Yet there's something about him that makes me watch him. Something dark. A secret I want to uncover. When he returns from a weekend away, broken and haunted, I can't keep my distance anymore. He needs someone, and I'll be damned if it's not me.

I love Jeremy's family
Revisado: 10-18-23
I loved this book on Kindle, but even more so now that it has been recorded by 2 awesome narrators. They absolutely chose the right ones to voice Jeremy and Preston.
There is a lot of sadness in this book, and I agree with one of the reviewers who said that if child abuse is a trigger, then maybe this book should be skipped.
However, Jeremy's family lends some well-needed humour to this story. I laughed so hard I had teers rolling down my cheeks during the Christmas cookie scene. I'm sure most of you will know the one I mean.
My favourite books are ones that deal with hard and serious issues and generally have a lot of angxt, but I do love an author who can also balance it out with a bit of levity in a way that doesn't take away from the seriousness of what is going on with the MC or MCs.
This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who loves grumpy/sunshine and enemies to lovers tropes along with some pretty hot and steamy scenes that are a bit on the aggressive side. The aggression though never becomes too much, though it does skate the line in a few scenes, but nothing too over the top.
5 stars.

narrator is ruining the story for me
Revisado: 06-22-23
I have read many of L.A. Witt's books including some that have also been written with other authors. I don't think this is one of her better ones, but so far, it's ok. I don't feel the connection between the 2 MCs, but part of that may be the narrator.
His performance is quite lack luster, and he miss-pronounces millitary terms. This is particularly irritating to me. I mean, if you have a military story, then don't you think they should know how to pronounce certain terms correctly? The narrator pronouces corps, like corpse. It took me right out of the story, and now I'm writing this review because I think that's something quality control should have caught and corected. This book could have been better if there was a better narrator reading it.

Historia
When Emery Hazard and his husband, John-Henry Somerset, arrive home from their honeymoon, they’re shocked (understatement of the year) to find a boy waiting for them on their doorstep. Colt, 15 and eager to pick a fight, claims to be Hazard’s son. It’s almost a relief, then, for Hazard and Somers to be called out to assist the Dore County Sheriff’s Department with what seems to be an impossible murder: a man has been found stabbed to death in a stretch of woods, and the only set of footprints in the soft ground belong to the victim.

Revisado: 03-08-22
This is the first book in Gregory Ashe's new Hazard and Sumerset series, but it is in no way a stand-alone novel. We find our two detectives with quite the new challenge when a young boy is sitting on their doorstep when they return from their honeymoon. I'm not going to spoil things, but I do not like the way either main character dealt with the situation, though I suppose it is in character. Hang in there though because the second book is quite a bit better.

It was supposed to be a simple job: Tail the Italian for an evening, see if he was up to anything shady, and report back to the Bratva. But I didn’t expect him to go into gay bars. Is someone trying to out me to the Bratva? Am I being set up? Now, we’re both in way over our heads. Our only hope is working together. And even then, I’m not so sure we’re getting out of this.

finally!
Revisado: 01-24-22
I read this book on Kindle when it was first released a few months ago, and I kept hoping that it would be recorded and that the narrator would be Michael. I'm not sure how accurate his Russian accent is, but compared to some narrators, his accents are fairly believable. The story is suspensful and the plot moves quite quickly. Is it a great piece of literature? no, but it is entertaining with just the right amount of angst and drama. If you are looking for a book filled with hot sex scenes, this might not be the one you want. There are a few, but LA has written books with allot more sex scenes than this one. The ending was maybe a bit rushed, and I felt that it could have been a bit longer, but still a very good read.

Very enjoyable
Revisado: 10-19-20
I started reading the first of this trilogy on Kindle not long after its release, but I decided that I'd rather wait until all 3 had been released because I hate cliff hangers. then when I heard it would be bundled into the whole trilogy plus bonus material and a novella at the end, I knew I had to wait for that and I'm glad I did. Mr. Obi did a great job with the narration, and I fell in love with all 3 characters though I did want to shake Tan a few times. If you like distopian fiction with aliens thrown in, then you might like this trilogy. The plot is straight forward with fairly sollid world building. It does not focus all that much on the politics of this world, but more on the 3 characters themselves who have escaped from a detainment camp for gay men. If you are a serious fan of this genre, then it might not be for you, but if you like a story with some suspense, adventure, and a slow burn romance, with alians and evil government forces thrown in, then give it a try. 4/5 stars.

perfect narrator for this book
Revisado: 10-19-20
This is one of my favorite books by Garrett Leigh, and I have read the EBook several times. When I found that it had finally been recorded, I was glad to see that it was Dan Kallie narrating as the last few books he has narrated by Ms. Leigh have been brilliantly done. I love his use of all the different accents, and this book is no exception. I'm not going to talk much about the plot as the blurb gives a fairly good description, but there could be a few triggers for some people in this book. As with many of this author's books, this one deals with some tough issues and there are a few scenes that I found hard to read, but I just love Seb and Dex. Dan's voicing of the two MCs was spot on, and really helped bring the story to life. I hope the rest of her books get recorded, and Dan Kallie narrates those set in the UK.I give this 5 out of 5. Great Job.

Historia
Recovering addict Jamie Yorke has returned to England from California. With no home or family to speak of, he sticks a pin in a map and finds a small town in the Derbyshire Peak District. Matlock Bath is a quiet place - he just needs to get there, keep his head down, and stay clean. Ex-Army medic Marc Ramsey's recovering from life-changing combat injuries while pulling nights as a trauma specialist at the local hospital. When Jamie - so wild and beautiful - bursts into his life, working himself into the ground isn’t as compelling as it used to be.

I was really glad to see this book come out on audio as it is one of my faves by this author. This book makes a little more sense if you read "Rented Heart" before it, but if you don't, the book should stand on its own fairly well. There are characters and events from "Rented Heart" that are mentioned in this book, so if you can, I would recommend that you read it before this one. Dan Kallie's performance is great, but I wish his voice came through louder. I think the recording levels were too low or he wasn't quite close enough to the mic. That's my only major issue with this audio book, otherwise, I enjoyed the story of what becomes of Jamie from "Rented Heart", and I also love Mark and the romance that developed between them even though they both had a lot of baggage to deal with. If you like anxty romances with broken heroes, then you'll probably really like this one. If you are more into light and fluffy, then I'd give this one a miss.

I’m a broke ex-football player with a bum leg and PTSD. Last summer, I had two choices: the streets, or find a cheap room to rent in the city. I chose the second option, which landed me with a brand-new problem, because I hadn’t banked on my roommate becoming my best friend. Or that before long, I’d find myself head over heels in love with him.

Narrator brought this story to life
Revisado: 04-29-20
I first read this book on Kindle, and though I liked it, I didn’t find it particularly memorable especially compared with some of her other books which are truly exceptional. I give it such a high rating mainly because of the awesome narration. The story of Sam and Mica is quite literally brought to life with Dan Cali’s incredible narration. The dialog between the two MCs was so realistic, and enriched by Cali’s talent with different accents. The reason why this story does not stand out as much as most of her others is that it is quite similar to a few of her other novels. This book as with many of her others, deals with mental illness and a difference in class and station, sort of. I still give it 4.5 stars because of the great writing and amazing narration. I really hope that Dan narrates her other books which have yet to be made into audio books.

An ugly childhood and devastating betrayal have left 25-year-old Cain Jensen scarred inside and out. But nothing he's ever experienced has prepared the cold-hearted and very straight Cain for who he finds on that mountain...or the intense need to suddenly offer more than just protection. Will two men who've vowed never to let someone close again let down their guard long enough to find each other, or will they let their pasts determine their future?

Revisado: 02-26-20
I’ve actually been waiting for this one to come out as an audio book, as I read it on kindle quite some time ago, and it was one of my favourites. I really liked that there wasn’t as much drama around the relationship since they both had so much going on already. I suppose it’s not that realistic, but it was a bit refreshing. However, I would have liked to have seen a bit more of them settling into just being with one another, but aside from that, it was one of the best in the series. 4.5 stars.

You will cry.
Revisado: 01-05-20
I am not one who cries easily with books, movies or life in general. This book though, moved me to tears several times. I don’t want to give away any of the plot, but please know that I think that this is an amazing and beautiful story, and if it were true, how truly wonderful it would be.
Charley David did an awesome job with the narration. In fact, I think this is his best performance, at least of those that I have read with him as the narrator. I highly recommend this book, but it’s probably best to listen to the last few hours alone, as you will probably end up sobbing at least once.
I give this 5 stars for both the story and the narration, and if I could give it 50, I would.
