Historia
It was long ago, but not as long as it seems: The Berlin Wall fell and the Twin Towers collapsed. In between, one presidential election was allegedly decided by Ross Perot while another was plausibly decided by Ralph Nader. Landlines fell to cell phones, the internet exploded, and pop culture accelerated without the aid of technology that remembered everything. It was the last era with a real mainstream to either identify with or oppose. The ’90s brought about a revolution in the human condition, and a shift in consciousness, that we’re still struggling to understand.

Gen X retelling is the 90’s.
Revisado: 03-30-23
This is a one dimensional story of the 90’s, told in a way that hints of the pretentious conversation you would over hear waiting in line at an Indy movie theater waiting to see the Royal Tenenbaums or maybe I love the Huckabees.
The few interesting points are overshadowed by the tone, pace and exclusion that elicited by the author.

Historia
There has never been a distinct people, race or tribe claiming the name of Celtic, though remnants of different languages and cultures remain throughout Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Cornwall. The word keltoi first appears in Greek as applied generally to aliens or 'barbarians'—and theories of Celticism continue to fuel many of the prejudices and misconceptions that divide the peoples of the British Isles to this day. Often seen as unimportant or irrelevant adjuncts to English history, in The Celts Simon Jenkins offers a compelling counterargument.

The Gaels
Revisado: 07-06-22
Found it lacking much context this book should much larger. It glosses over a lot of the work to divide the Gaels. This should be at the very least 30 hrs and currently this work seems lazy and lacking. Had all the makings of being a great read, absolutely fell well short of it.

Historia
Bridging women's history, the history of the South, and African-American history, this audiobook makes a bold argument about the role of white women in American slavery. Historian Stephanie E. Jones-Rogers draws on a variety of sources to show that slave-owning women were sophisticated economic actors who directly engaged in and benefited from the South's slave market.

If you are advising someone running for President or you are the candidate, read this book. If you are a person whom push’s identity politics, read this book. If you are a white American, read this book... if you are a person whom likes to think themselves informed you should read this book. This book is as enlightening a read as anyone could expect for said subject... Further it should be on everyone’s short list for summer/down time reads.
