Oh my gosh! I can’t believe how tragic this ending was! I can’t stop crying!!! I wish I had known that the series ending so badly. The book and story are well written but it’s entirely too depressing/sad. Awful, awful ending!

Out of the frying pan and into the fire, they say. Well, I'm about to learn just how true that aphorism is. First, I have to meet a queen in hand-to-hand combat and hope I come out as the victor because only one of us will walk away from the training grounds alive. Second, I have to try and find a way to live with the fact that three of my four mates unwittingly betrayed me. Then there's the king, who's looking me over with a speculative eye and not just as his wife's challenger. Most of all, there are the damn Reavers that are slowly gnawing at the edges of Strelae.

Beautifully written

What a book! So well written. You can clearly see the world in which the story takes place. A bit cruel at times, but not gratuitous. Just real. I can’t wait to see how it all ends in the next book.
The narration is excellent. I don’t think the book could have been as good had someone else narrated the story!

Another success

While the beginning chapters are a bit slow, it finally picks up and takes off. The ending we all expected, but very well written. Much better than I imagined. It made me cry, as I knew it would; but it was still wrapped of in a beautiful bow. It makes the anticipation for Book 7 of the Blood and Ash series even greater. I can’t wait to see how it all comes to together and builds to the grand finale! Praying it won’t be too long for 7, 8, and 9 to come out!!!

Too Irritating

I held out, beside my better judgment, and finished the book hoping it would get better. But I was left feeling like I wasted my time. The main female character is beyond frustrating. The story line could have been so much better if the author would have moved past the prince killing the mfc family. It got extremely irritating. Maybe the author didn’t know how to develop the story or was just trying to drag out the book, so there would be something left for the second book. Who knows? I will not read the remaining books.
