Historia
After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Pronunciation II
Revisado: 05-04-19
As Bookhound noted, Mr Collyer mispronounced a key word in this story! Digoxin is one of the killer’s favorite weapons, or “Dig” as medical professionals call it, with a soft g. After pronouncing it correctly the first instance, he consistently used a hard g, as in you dig in your garden. Very irritating for this medical professional.
The fixed it! I reread the book, and was charmed to hear every instance had been found and corrected. Thank-you.

One of my favorites, but ...
Revisado: 01-19-17
What would have made Frederica better?
A different narrator, I'm afraid. Though I've tried several times, I haven't been able to finish listening to this. If Audible can get Phyllida Nash or Daniel Philpott to record it, I'll buy it again. I promise.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Wonderful story.

Historia
On a quiet August morning, Judge Deborah Knott's father, Kezzie, makes a shocking discovery on a remote corner of his farm: the body of a man bludgeoned to death. Investigating this crime, Deborah's husband, Sheriff's Deputy Dwight Bryant, soon uncovers a long-simmering hostility between Kezzie and the slain man over a land dispute. The local newspaper implies that Deborah's family may have had something to do with the murder - and that Dwight is dragging his feet on the case.

A fitting end to the series
Revisado: 11-16-16
And Margaret Maron is a wonderful narrator. In fact, I’ve told her that if she’ll read one of the earlier books I’ll buy it again.
I hear some of you: but CJ Critt! Yes, Ms Critt is excellent ... as Stephanie Plum, of Trenton NJ. She doesn’t do so well as genuine southerner Deborah Knott.

Author and narrator have had better
Revisado: 11-03-16
The flawed logic in the very beginning nearly stopped me reading this, but I persisted, in the end skipping pages at a time. Sorry I bothered! The poor hero kept screwing up, and the poor author kept having him explain in excruciating detail how he missed the obvious. Sorry, Felix!
Martin Jarvis narrated 101 Dalmatians, which I liked very much. That's probably why this effort was so irritating - it's ok for dogs to smirk and simper, not love interests. Sorry, Martin!
