i appreciate the information and way this book was put together. it isn't complicated, but it is genuine in the sense that it conveys what the average person might think in their soberest moments as a human in this dimension, based on the information we have access to.

completely perfect except...

the volume changes in Lloyd's voice threw me off a lot. i have 3 kids and listen to audiobooks on a bluetooth speaker while doing dishes, showering, etc. most of the time i could hear him perfectly, but when we did the whispery parts i couldn't hear them at all with the speaker on full volume. other than that its a wonderful story and i hope we hear more from Dunk and Egg in the future <3

Some good info, a little incongruent

Some of the info is really critical for mothers to understand, but the ending arguments claiming that all families are the same if they just recognize the losses of not having mom around... ugh why do we have to dance around this? kids need their mothers, full stop. She is way too politically correct at the end and doesn't recognize how the feminization of fathers is eroding the family unit.

One of the best books I have ever encountered.

In depth, captivating, intelligent... It took me a month to get through it all but I'm glad I invested the time. In fact, I may need to hear it all again because it is so packed with meaning that I know I would be able to unpack more gold from it in the future. Thank you, Dr. Peterson.

Jonathan talks at you with the utmost certainty without leaving room for alternative explanations. He seems to have all the answers to the problems he proposes as if he wrote the book with the ending arguments in mind and justified them through researching issues to include afterward.
