The sensuous and the sublime, the ordinary and the divine - on the Tantric path, all qualities merge as one in the ecstasy and wonder of awakening. Doorways to the Infinite invites us to directly experience the core practices and insights of Tantra from its original source: Kashmir Shaivism's Vijnana Bhairava. This dialogue between the deity Shiva and his consort Devi unfolds the secrets for moment-to-moment awakening into inner freedom and open-eyed ecstasy. Profound
Revisado: 10-10-23
The practices contained within are impactful and insightful. I love the format in which the teachings are presented as I can go back over and over to a particular practice or meditation and apply it in my day. I am also so grateful that Sally narrated her book. Excellent! Highly recommend.

Historia
Drawing from her work as a psychoanalyst and cantadora (keeper of old stories), Dr. Estes uses myths and folktales to illustrate how societies systematically strip away the feminine spirit. Historia
We live in a world obsessed with drinking. We drink at baby showers and work events, brunch and book club, graduations and funerals. Yet no one ever questions alcohol’s ubiquity—in fact, the only thing ever questioned is why someone doesn’t drink. It is a qualifier for belonging and if you don’t imbibe, you are considered an anomaly. As a society, we are obsessed with health and wellness, yet we uphold alcohol as some kind of magic elixir, though it is anything but.

Impressive Connections, Insightful Advice
Revisado: 03-05-21
Maybe because I am taking a sociology class, or maybe because I have had a long and slow break up with alcohol, or maybe because deeper aspects of myself are anchoring, I AM grateful for this contribution. This book is timely and potent for eager hearts that are ready to change.
Holly weaves her story into a larger narrative and does so gracefully. She does talk politics but she connects her points back to sobriety and alcoholism. When listening to her, her points are logical and blindingly blatant.
This book has been very helpful with strategic ways to recover in a wholistic way and after reading many beautiful books on sobriety and recovery, this one widened my perspective and lead me to deeper reflection.
I recommend it, BUT- if you can’t take the heat of looking honestly at yourself and our society - get out the kitchen.
