Low magic, stealth Fantasy - worth every penny
Revisado: 06-06-13
If you could sum up Dragonfly in Amber in three words, what would they be?
Evocative, Funny, Infuriating
What other book might you compare Dragonfly in Amber to and why?
SM Stirling's Nantucket Series, but his characters seemed to be better able to affect the future.
Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?
I love when Clare gets sarcastic, Davina Porter's voice is perfect for that.
If you could rename Dragonfly in Amber, what would you call it?
There and back and there and back again.
Any additional comments?
Love this series, but be warned that it is a romance as well as having just a touch of magic.

Excellent to listen to while driving
Revisado: 03-04-13
Where does Driving Mr. Dead rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book is funny and entertaining, so it rates right around the middle. Its excellent to listen to on my long commute, because no matter how bad traffic is, Miranda is always having a worse day, and her good-naturedness about what a mess her life is generally makes you feel better.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Miranda. She's so cheerfully accepting of what a train wreck her life is, that it just makes you like her all the more.
What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I really like Amanda's readings - it makes me feel like I'm listening to a friend tell me about her day.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Its all fun and games until the vampire drives, and then its just funny.

Agatha Award-winning author Rhys Bowen’s charming combination of intrigue and romance blended with a touch of humor shines when performed by Audible Hall of Fame narrator Katherine Kellgren, whose deft range and impeccable accent work make it hard to believe this isn’t a multicast performance.

An Anglophile's romp through post-war England
Revisado: 03-04-13
What did you love best about Her Royal Spyness?
Its a toss up between the brilliant narration from Katherine Kellgren, and the hilarious mystery. It fringes on a door farce at a couple of points, but Rhys Bowen prevents it from being too campy.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes! A number of times I leaped from my seat and cried, "I know who the murderer is!"...but I was wrong on most of my guesses.
Which character – as performed by Katherine Kellgren – was your favorite?
Georgiana was, by far, my favorite. Belinda got all the best lines though!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
More intrigue than you can shake a feather duster at!

Surprisingly Charming and Original
Revisado: 03-04-13
Would you listen to A Little Night Magic again? Why?
I accidentally found this title because of the narrator, Amanda Ronconi. I had enjoyed her narration of another book, and was curious to see what else she had worked on. This title was on sale, and I thought I'd give it a try. I was charmed by the story, and even went hunting for more titles by the author. No luck yet, but I'll get her sophomore effort!
What did you like best about this story?
The magic system is new and original, but it doesn't take away from the story. It builds slowly with the plot, until they're so inexorably entwined that you can't resist finding out where the author is going to go with them.
What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?
Amanda is funny and manages to convey so many different emotions in her voice that you just can't resist her. I always feel like I'm listening to a friend telling me a story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it has a bit of a slow start, but the characters are so engaging that it doesn't last for long!
