Historia
The Solarian League's navy counts its superdreadnoughts by the thousands. Not even its own government knows how enormous its economy truly is. And for hundreds of years, the League has borne the banner of human civilization, been the ideal to which humanity aspires in its diaspora across the galaxy. But the bureaucrats known as the "Mandarins," who rule today's League, are not the men and women who founded it so long ago. They are corrupt, venal, accountable to no one...and they've decided the upstart Star Kingdom of Manticore must be destroyed.

Weber does it again,
Revisado: 05-24-21
Loved the story and a good end to the Honor Harrington series. The only issue I have with David Weber compared to most other authors, is that he focuses too much on the politics, and not as much on the actual action. If he were to step it up a little on the action side, his books would be epic.

Historia
Kayo's back and kicking ass. It's been a hard six months since Karen Hashimoto quit being Crushette - number one henchwoman of Doctor Maniac and super-villain extraordinaire - and became Kayo, member of the superhero group, The Good Guys. After winning a candidacy for the most prestigious award possible, Kayo's not-so-far-gone past comes back full-swing, determined to show the world that changing the name doesn't really change the girl. Facing off against friends, foes, and everyone in between, Karen must prove once and for all that she truly is some kind of hero.

The worst ending ever.
Revisado: 06-21-18
Just like the first book in the series, the story flowed well and made you root for the hero. However, it seemed as though the author wanted to turn her into a complete moron at the end. Not only that, he threw in some side story that made it worse.
The book was a four maybe five star all the way up to the epilogue, which completely ruined my impression of the hero, and then stomped on it for good measure. Seriously, I have never seen an author go out of their way to just destroy their whole series like this in an epilogue.... If the author thought this was going to keep me hanging on the edge of my seat for the next book in the series, he was completely off the mark. Not only does he make you think the hero is an idiot, but then he pours salt on the wounds by having a scene from some alternate universe that makes you hate them more. If he would have cut out the epilogues, and had them as the start of the new book as a prologue, it would have worked. The way it is now, i have to admit this is the worst ending to any superhero book I have ever read or listened to in my life. The end wipes out all the good in the story.
bad form, bad bad form.

Historia
In the medieval kingdom of Goredd, women are expected to be ladies, men are their protectors, and dragons can be whomever they choose. Tess is none of these things. Tess is...different. She speaks out of turn, has wild ideas, and can't seem to keep out of trouble. Then Tess goes too far. Tess's family decide the only path for her is a nunnery. But on the day she is to join the nuns, Tess chooses a different path for herself. She cuts her hair, pulls on her boots, and sets out on a journey. She's not running away, she's running towards something.

Drawn out and boring.
Revisado: 03-15-18
What disappointed you about Tess of the Road?
The story was very stagnant and boring. It took forever to get to any sort of adventure, and the adventure was boring, with a stupid character.
What about Katharine McEwan’s performance did you like?
She is the only entertaining thing about the story. Her change in voice was done very well.
What character would you cut from Tess of the Road?
Tess....

Revisado: 02-15-18
Just when these stories get good they end up depressing. I doubt I'll get any more since they are too slow moving, and I don't see any sort of happy ending that I would care about.

Historia
The Darshik war machine is flagging, but the war is far from over. Even as an exhausted Federation military tenses up for a counterattack after repelling the last Darshik invasion, reports are coming in of a new, more powerful class of ship that's striking deep into Terran space. Captain Jackson Wolfe has been given the fleet's newest, most advanced destroyer and tasked with eliminating this new threat before it can claim any more human lives. What he finds, however, is immeasurably more dangerous than just some new class of starship....

good, but obvious problems
Revisado: 02-08-18
The only thing I do not like about this story is that the crew nor the Marines wear any kind of space suit that is sealed while in battle. There is a scene where Marines are raiding a ship in space and then get worried about the ship being depressurised. Why would Marines attack a ship in space not wearing a pressure suit when the ships captain could just turn the air off wherever they are, it doesn't make sense.

no questions answered.
Revisado: 12-31-16
The writing was good, but it left me wanting to beat the author with a soft broom, since no questions were answered. I know he was leading on to more books and stories to come, but I left this one learning pretty much nothing beside the knowledge there is a secret..... he could have gotten the point across with several sentences yet spent the whole book building up suspense only to say "ha you learn nothing."
I loved all his books about Damian, but they at least were full and complete stories, while this one had good fights and stuff but you got pretty much nothing at the end.

The Kleese are one of three large Galactic Empires that control the majority of the galaxy. To them, Earth is an extremely dangerous planet due to the aggressiveness of the humanoid species that inhabits it. slow it to 80% or its too fast
Revisado: 08-23-16
I am not sure if the encoding was done wrong, but it was like speed reading a run-on sentence at first. I slowed it to 80% and was much better. that all said, the reader sounded like he was in a cheap studio possibly just a bedroom because it slightly echoed.
The story wasn't bad, but it could have been better with more backgrounds and filling of life stories. The lack of information left you thinking it was rushed.

got harder to listen to as it went along.
Revisado: 06-30-16
yes there was a lot of Harry Potter like stuff in this, but with a wider variety of magic. HP didn't really have a wide imaginative variety of magic compared to most books but this one does. where the writer lost is in the execution of the story. I just had a hard time caring about what was going on. I didn't even finish the third part because I got bored. I also agree that there was far too much teeny love in the story.
