Nick Podehl did a fantastic job and gave once again wondrous life to this series and the characters yet again. He is without a doubt one of the greatest voice actors of this era.

SBT is phenomenal!

SBT did a fantastic job with this book. I loved the work Gary did witht he MC, it was an easy listen hearing how the character play his way in and out of trouble with a smooth voice to keep things calm even during tense moments. if a voice could wear sunglasses, this is it! ( I'm saying that as the most common voice I heard in the book) The author could use some work giving more characterization to this cut and dry ( but not stale ) delivery of a modern samurai drama. For what it was the story was clean, didn't have too much extra, but it had a lot of unneeded filler in my opinion. Too much extra intrigue or filler to get to know the characters better. By no means is the book the author wrote bad, it just doesn't lend itself well to being anything other than a TV show script, but instead of reading it I much more preferred the delivery here by SBT, a must buy if you like SBT's works or anything by the author. Solid delivery on all accounts! I was given a code for this book, but I would have actually paid money/ a credit for it if I had been recommended, hands down, enjoyable. A better experience than a certain popular game with neon lights and futuristic samurai.

Excellence in a bottle

Once again Andrea hits it out of the park with her performance of KT"s books. The story is exactly as expected and continues to be a riveting adventure of a clumsy girl fighting her way through life and her friends and hopefully makes up for lost time with the best of her friends. If you're reading this review you should have no doubt the story and performance continues to be amazing as you clearly have read and listened to the others!

riveting and compelling

as sin and mur get to know each other "on screen" in the story and steep in their relationship beyond just friends it strikes a compelling note between what calls to you and who calls your name.

the continuing IRL plotline is enjoyable but only a dusting even now... into the next one!

Equal Dungeon, Equal Lord

The second book has promised to deliver a good amount of both and it has. As the creeping darkness continues to descend on Lord Wright, the choices, good and bad given to him show off more of the great character progression you'd expect. Still slow and meandering, the story does at least pick up with multiple divergent paths being taken up in the story to keep the listener focused on what's happening. Just like how you have to pay attention when in a dungeon.

This isn't for everyone, while a great story it takes a long time to go a short distance. I say that because, unlike other stories, this is about the slow creeping dark of madness as it descends on a mortal mind. Very little dungeon management. Mostly Lord, less Dungeon.
