Great start to a series

I loved how the story jumped timelines to coalesce back to the beginning and also run simultaneously with the events of The Edge of Dominance. The character building and growth were as flawless as the storyline. There were just enough answers given to offset all the questions still needing resolution. I cannot wait for the next book!

At the end of the day, it wasn't the worst story I've ever read, and obviously not anywhere near the best. I will definitely read more from this author, but I am going to wait to read the rest of this series.

Not my favorite in the series but it opens up a new cast of characters. I hope that the rest of the Jones brothers get some page time.

Yeah, Derrick is angry and bitter, but with good reason. His army buddies should have left him to die instead of dragging him out of the rebel camp - and he means drag. Shrapnel to his back ensured his legs are useless hunks of meat. Everything below his waist is useless. As if that isn't bad enough, fate just has to kick a wolf when he is down and send him the curvy and luscious Janine. According to his inner beast, she's his mate. Not happening.

A wonderful emotional roller coaster

Would you listen to Freakn' Out again? Why?
This story is about Derrick who returns from war, paralyzed from the waist down. He's not happy with this and thinks he should have died on the battlefield. In walks a new doctor to rehab him and she's his freakin' mate! Now the fun begins! This story is raw and hopeful, not just dark and angry. There's a realism in the story that suggests a great deal of research. Not just a shallow read. If all you want is non-stop sexy time with no struggles and tears, look elsewhere, but if you want some meaningful romance with heart, here it is.
