Cross Checked is the 3rd book in the Boston Rebels series. However, this was my first book by Julia Connors. This book hooked me from the beginning, and it stole my heart. I am definitely interested in reading the previous books in this series.

AJ is the first female general manager of a hockey team and up for a big award for all her accomplishments. Ronan is a single father of a 10-month-old baby and not a fan of AJ. They have some bad history between them, and now he is fighting with her regarding his contract. They have a contentious relationship due to their complicated past. Things change when she gets injured, protecting his baby when his nanny is a no-show for a game. He offers to take care of her, and they spend a lot of time together, especially since she is his neighbor.

AJ and Ronan finally communicate about their past and get to know each other on a deeper level. I loved all the intimate conversations they had, and their chemistry was amazing. This was a beautiful, slow burn romance. Once they get involved with each other, they are forced to keep their relationship secret because this could look bad for AJ, as his GM.

I adored both of these characters, and AJ was such a strong heroine who was not afraid to fight for herself and her career. I loved how she opened up to Ronan about her inability to have children and how supportive he was.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

The audiobook had duet narration by Sebastian York and Angelina Rocca. They did such an amazing job with their performances. I loved Sebastian’s sexy and gruff voice for Ronan. Angelina showed the feisty and badass traits of AJ perfectly. I couldn’t stop listening to this audiobook and finished it in a day. Highly recommend it!

Jack and Wren have known each other for a long time and have been enemies for five years after a one night stand gone wrong. They hooked up at a Halloween party where they were both wearing masks. Jack panicked when he realized he took his best friend's little sisters virginity and doesn't handle it well.

They have spent years ignoring and hating on each other, but now Jack is Wren's boss at the hospital, and he also just became her neighbor. They keep clashing in their personal life and are forced to finally acknowledge their sexual attraction. There is a lot of banter, tension, and some spicy hate banging.

I did have some issues with the heroine, though, because she didn't really have a reason to hate him. She acted pretty immature and hateful, all because he felt guilty having sex with his best friend's sister. To be that petty and hate someone that much was a little OTT. The hate in this was one-sided, and it irritated me how she always picked fights with him every time they were together.

They had great chemistry, and I loved the way Jack helped her deal with her trauma from her previous attack.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
I was so excited to see this book would have two of my favorite narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor. They both did a great job bringing the banter and chemistry. The only thing that would make this better was if it had duet narration. I really wanted to hear Teddy Hamilton do the dirty talk during the heroine's chapters. I still highly recommend the audiobooks.

Love You Always is the last book in the Buttercup Hills series. I loved the family and setting of this series since it is located at a winery. This was another sweet edition with one of my favorite tropes, grumpy/sunshine.

Archer has a lot of weight on his shoulders since he is in charge of the vineyard, and his dad left things in a bit of a mess. He is grumpy and closed off because he never wanted to run the vineyard. Ella is a famous actress and comes to Buttercup Hills to plan her wedding. She has an arranged marriage situation with a country singer to help their public image and, more importantly, to improve her chances of adopting a baby.

Archer is irritated he has to give her a tour of the winery, but they immediately feel the sparks and attraction. He learns there is so much more to Ella the more time they spend together, and he starts to fall for her. This is a little instalove, but I still really enjoyed it.

This audiobook is narrated by Lee Samuels and Ava Erickson. They are two of my favorite narrators and delivered an amazing performance. Lee Samuels did a great job showing Archer's grumpy and gruff side. Ava Erickson always does a great job, and they were the perfect duo for this book.

Wild Bliss was my first Lexi Blake and it is the 14th book in the Nights in Bliss, Colorado series. This small town was pretty crazy because literally everyone is in a poly/menage relationship. That took a lot of the angst or drama out of this since everyone would accept that type of relationship. Was this at all realistic…no, but it was a nice low angst read.

Sabrina has moved to Bliss for a fresh start and is the teacher for the new school created for this cute small town. She gets snowed in with a couple of ex MC best friends in their little cabin and things heat up from there. Sawyer is the grumpy, broody one who doesn’t want a relationship, but can’t help falling for Sabrina. Wyatt is the sunshine and cinnamon roll hero who has been pining after her for a while. They discover they do not want things to end after their hot few nights together, but Wyatt’s past with MC comes back to haunt him and things may get dangerous for them.

I enjoyed this for a fun and spicy time. I just would have preferred this was an MMF relationship. That is more of a me thing, since that is what I love in a Poly romance. I just like the men to be romantically together as well.

Devil's Thirst is the first book in The Moretti Men series, but I honesty feel like you need to read the previous series to fully connect with this book. I felt like I was missing a lot from the character's backstories because they were covered in the Byrne Brothers. I still enjoyed this romance, but I would have probably loved it if I read the other series.

Sante has been obsessed with Amelie since he met her at a wedding four years ago. He has returned home after being sent away to finally make Amelie his woman. He may go about it in some crazy ways by stalking, hiding his identity, and moving in to her neighbors place. However, he did it in sweet and protective way. Amelie has a complicated past and is hiding a big secret about the man who tried to buy her virginity. Her life could be in danger, but Sante is determined to keep her safe. I really liked that she didn't freak out and end things with him when she discovers who he really was and what he did to get her.

I loved Sante's character and how protective/obsessive he was of Amelie. He was so patient with her and took things slowly in the bedroom due to her previous traumas.

Peter Alden and Brooke Daniels narrated the audiobook and I thought they both did a great job bringing the banter, suspense, and spice to their performances.

Reckless Love is a sweet friend's to lovers, single dad romance. Willow Aster has written the best series about singe dad football players.

Rhodes and Elle have been best friends for 13 years and have been mutually pining for each other. They made a pact to never let anything come between their friendship, so Elle is too scared to be with him romantically. They had a kiss one night, and Elle started to pull away from Rhodes a little bit, especially since she is a cheerleader for his football team and is not supposed to fraternize with the players.

I thought their friendship was perfectly crafted, and it felt authentic. Elle is such an important woman in his life and had a beautiful relationship with his son, Levi. I just wished Elle would stop being so clueless about how much Rhodes wanted to be with her. He literally told her multiple times he wanted a relationship with her. It took a fake dating element to finally push them together.

I really loved Rhodes, and he was such a devoted father and friend. He was always so supportive of Elle's writing and wanted her to achieve her goals.

I continue to love the group of single dads, and I can't wait for the next book.

Only With me is the 4th book in the Sugarland Creek series. I was excited to finally get to one of the twin's romances. This one was a little forbidden because it is a romance with his ex's little sister. It also has some spicy "teach me" lessons, but it gets complicated with a hidden identity situation.

Waylon has not been dating for a while because he has to focus all his attention on his twin, Wilder. His twin suffers with mental health and exhibits risky behavior. Waylon joins a group chat for horses that is anonymous, and he ends up building a connection to a woman. They had a sweet friendship and started texting privately through chat until they decided to finally meet. Unfortunately, when Waylon shows up to the meeting, he realizes the woman was his ex's little sister, so he ghosts her. He finds her on a dating app and decides to reach out to her so he can chat with her as Waylon. They really open up to each other, and Harlow asks for some lessons.

I loved how Harlow was such an inquisitive and innocent virgin who was not afraid to ask for what she wanted. Waylon and Harlow had such a natural connection, and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved how things seemed so effortless between them, and I think they were so open with each other. They may have the slight miscommunication, but other than that, they had such good communication. Harlow has been through a lot of trauma, and her family has been through so much. She has struggled with mental health from her previous trauma, and I appreciated how that was handled in this book.

Brooke Montgomery has done something special with this series, and I love this whole family. I am very intrigued to get to Wilder's book, but I have a feeling it will be another emotional one.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
This audiobook was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson, who are two of my favorite narrators. Their performances were top-notch. There is nothing better than listening to Teddy Hamilton do dirty talk, and Waylon has an amazingly dirty mouth. The scene where he shows her how he gets himself off is extremely hot. Ava Erickson did a great job showing Harlow's curious and inquisitive nature. This book deals with some heavier topics, and I think they performed those scenes with such emotion. I would highly recommend this audiobook.

Make sure to check trigger because this book tackles some heavy topics. brook lists them all at the beginning of the book, and I also appreciate that she has that included in the audiobook.

This was such a great collection of all of the audiobooks for the Redemption Hills series. A.L. Jackson's books are just so much better as audiobooks. This collection has some of my favorite narrators and they all deliver top-notch performances.

Give Me A Reason - 5 Stars
Give Me a Reason is the first book in the Redemption Hills series. I thought this was a really great start to the series and I loved that this was a bad boy, single father romance.

Eden has to beg for a job at Trent's club because she needs to earn money to help her father. She works for a private school as a teacher that her father runs, but they might lose it because her sister stole all her father's money. Trent did not want to hire her since she was such a good girl and he thought she was too good for his club, but she wins him over. She ends up being his 6 year old's teacher too, so they try to deny their attraction for a while. Trent and Eden are so drawn to each other and they had amazing chemistry. He escaped the MC lifestyle and is just trying to give his son the best life.

Let me tell you, AL Jackson wrote the perfect kid. I literally fell in love with his son Gage. This kid was written so perfectly and he stole my heart.

I really felt their connection and I thought she did a great job showing the growth of their relationship. They really communicated when they needed to and I liked how much Eden believed in him.

I thought AL Jackson did a phenomenal job setting up the 3rd act and twist. I was shocked, but I honestly didn't see it coming.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
The audiobook was narrated by Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum. Their performances were top notch and I thought the both did an amazing job voicing my favorite character, Gage. The thing I realized is that I appreciate AL Jackson's audiobooks more than reading them physically. She does have a lot of flowery prose which can be more difficult for me to get into, but I love it in the audiobook format.

Say It's Forever - 5 Stars
Say It’s Forever the second book in the Redemption Hills series and I loved it just as much as the first one. This hooked me from the start, and I loved Salem and Jud.

Salem has moved to Redemption Hills to live with her brother after years on the run with her daughter from her psycho ex. She is not sure she is really safe and has a hard time trusting people, but Jud breaks down her walls after he helps her when her car is broken down one night.

Jud was so sweet and supportive to Salem. At first, he is scared off because of his own trauma, but he can’t stay away from her. They have both been through so much and they come together in such a beautiful way. I loved how Jud fought for her and her sweet daughter.

The 3rd act was very intense with some amazing twists I didn’t see coming. AL Jackson is such a phenomenal author with the way she crafts the suspense element in her books. The kids continue to steal my heart in this series.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
This book was narrated by two of my favorite narrators, Joe Arden and Andi Arndt. They did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. They brought all the emotion, angst, and chemistry. I honestly prefer this author’s audiobooks because sometimes the flowery prose doesn’t work for people when reading it, but it sounds perfect in audio. Highly recommend the audio.

Never Look Back - 4 Stars
I was interested in Logan’s romance since he was introduced and did not have direct ties to the MC. He works in finance and has become extremely successful. I was surprised his romance was going to be a second chance and it had ties to the mafia.

Logan runs into his first and only love while playing poker and he wins her in a bet with her husband, who happens to be his enemy. Aster and Logan both felt betrayed from the events that split them up, but Aster tries to stay with him till she can find a way out of the marriage she was forced into. She has 30 days to try and convince her mafia father that her husband has betrayed him or is untrustworthy.

Aster and Logan have a complicated history that was told through many flashbacks. I had a harder time feeling connected to their romance and that may be because of the flashbacks.

This was not as good as the first two books, but I still enjoyed it. I love seeing the couples from the previous books and I am excited to read Tess’s book next.

This audiobook was narrated by Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon. They are such a great duo, and I love Zachary’s voice. They also did a great job bringing the kids' characters to life. I keep saying this, but I highly recommend AL Jackson’s audiobooks if you have issues with her writing style. It sounds amazing in audio.

Promise Me Always - 5 Stars:
I was so excited we were getting a romance for Tessa, after she was such a scene stealer in the previous book. I have loved her character since Give Me a Reason and I wanted her to find someone who deserved her. I hated her jerk of a boyfriend and was very curious to see why she stayed with him after how bad he acted.

Tessa is one of my favorite A.L. Jackson heroines and I adored her even more in this. She is so full of life and love for everyone around her. She has such a giving nature and suffered with her horrible boyfriend so she could take care of her brother. Luckily, she breaks up with her boyfriend finally after he takes things too far and Milo helps her out that night. Milo is Trent's friend and bouncer at his club. Tessa and Milo have been crushing on each other for a while but things heat up once they decide to do a fake engagement so he can get custody of his kids. Now they are living in forced proximity and they cannot deny their chemistry and attraction. Real feelings come into play, but Milo is worried about her safety when his past comes back to haunt them.

Mad, mad love for Tessa and Milo.

This audiobook was narrated by Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor. Connor Crais always delivers the perfect voice and tone in his performances. He showed the tough and also sweet side to Milo. Samantha did an amazing job showcasing Tessa's fun and positive personality. I keep saying this in all my reviews for this series, but I can't recommend the audiobooks enough.

This is my first book from Ketley Allison, and she had me hooked from the start. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. This had so many of my favorite things, mostly a masked hero. I am a sucker for the morally grey or, in this case, assassin masked hero.

Kaden Black "Scythe" was hired to kill Layla when she overhears something she shouldn't have while at work. Her life is in danger for being in the wrong place, but the person who wants her dead happens to be the man Kaden has been searching for. He became an assassin in order to get vengeance on the man who brought tragedy into his life and he was ruthless in his pursuit of justice. He starts stalking and protecting Layla so he can finally get his revenge, but he soon becomes obsessed.

The obsession isn't one-sided, and they team up to stop his enemy. Layla was such a strong and intelligent heroine. She felt like the perfect match for Kaden's damage. The sexual tension and Kaden's dirty talk were so hot.

The 3rd act and the insane cliffhanger have me shook. I did not see the big reveal coming, and I had no idea this was not a standalone, so I am frustrated because I need the conclusion to their romance now! I can't wait for Red Dreams to come out on January 2025.

Side Note: I love his cat reaper and the kittens he took in.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
This audiobook was narrated by Wesley Mercer and Hannah Chiclana with duet narration. They did an amazing job building the sexual tension and suspense. I think this was my first time listening to Wesley Mercer, and I am a fan! The distorted voice was so intense when The Scythe was threatening people or dirty talking in his mask. It was giving me major Kylo Ren vibes. Hannah Mercer brought so much depth to Layla's character and made her such a strong heroine.

Love You Too is the 4th book in the Buttercup Hill series, but I think it can definitely be read as a standalone. I love the small town and winery vibes of this series, but that may be because I am a wine girlie.

Beatrix is a strong and hardworking woman who has been extremely focused on her career at her family winery and resort. However, her life gets shaken up when she runs into her college sweetheart, Dominick “Ren” Renaldi. Ren broke Beatriz’s heart when he chose hockey over her when he went to the NHL, even though she was willing to leave school to be with him. His dog literally runs into her, and Ren takes her back to his place to show her the house he bought to remodel in her small town. The connection between them is still strong, and they end up having a one-night stand. Beatrix just wants it to be a one and done, but she offers to take care of his dog while he is traveling for hockey, and they start to text a lot.

Beatrix is still afraid to trust or try anything with him, but her life changes when she realizes she is pregnant. I loved how quickly she told Ren and how there was no miscommunication or drama around the baby. Ren really wanted to be with Beatrix, but he had to figure out the right balance since he always felt he needed 100% focus on hockey.

I really loved how sweet and swoony Ren could be and how he stepped up for Beatrix, especially when it’s revealed how long he wanted her back. One of my favorite scenes was when he shaved her since her belly was getting too big. I love caretaking scenes.

I was so happy I was able to listen to this audiobook and discover some new narrators. Hannah Chiclana and Wesley Mercer did an amazing job with this sweet second chance romance. They brought the characters to life and could feel the chemistry and connection of the characters.
