Historia
Over the soothing tones of resonant, vibrating instruments, Sara Auster gently guides you to observe and let go of bodily sensations as a way to release tension and find deep relaxation. In order to get the most out of your listening experience, pioneering sound therapist Sara Auster recommends you dim the lights and lie down or sit in a comfortable position with an eye mask and a blanket, silence any alerts or notifications, and use earphones. These things allow you to completely unplug and connect with the present moment to intentionally prepare for sleep.

Couldn't Finish
Revisado: 07-27-20
Could not make it all the way through this one. The background noise became too much.

Historia
When Rini lands with a literal splash in the pond behind Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children, the last thing she expects to find is that her mother, Sumi, died years before Rini was even conceived. But Rini can’t let Reality get in the way of her quest—not when she has an entire world to save! (Much more common than one would suppose.) If she can't find a way to restore her mother, Rini will have more than a world to save: she will never have been born in the first place. And in a world without magic, she doesn’t have long before Reality notices her existence and washes her away.

McGuire Does It Again
Revisado: 01-30-18
The latest in the Wayward Children series manages to circle back through the stories of the previous books while still being standout and stand alone. It's a great listen and Dockery does a great job of capturing the various voices and keeping you enthralled with the twists and turns of the tale. If you enjoyed the previous books in this series, you'll definitely love this one.

Historia
Jacqueline was her mother’s perfect daughter—polite and quiet, always dressed as a princess. If her mother was sometimes a little strict, it’s because crafting the perfect daughter takes discipline. Jillian was her father’s perfect daughter—adventurous, thrill-seeking, and a bit of a tom-boy. He really would have preferred a son, but you work with what you've got. They were five when they learned that grown-ups can’t be trusted. They were twelve when they walked down the impossible staircase and discovered that the pretense of love can never be enough to prepare you a life filled with magic.

Like Reading an October Twilight
Revisado: 06-15-17
Seanan McGuire has outdone herself with the pacing and tone of this book, which stands somehow separate and apart from 'Every Heart a Doorway', while still staying true to the essence of the interconnected worlds she established there.
The text is aided by the author's performance as narrator, bringing life to the subtle nuances of meaning and establishing a steady pace of quiet flow, allowing the words to wash over the listener and drag you deeper down the stairs into the moors with the twins.
This is an excellent addition to the Wayward Children series and hopefully is a sign of more good things to come!
