The narrator's performance ruined it for me
Revisado: 12-26-21
The narration was jerky with strange pauses inside sentences where they didn't belong. This was very distracting and made it hard to follow the plot. It got so annoying, I couldn't finish it.

Historia
Everyone lies. When working for a sex mage, it's the only way to stay safe. That's the first thing Jaeda learns when she's named as the Chosen. The mage needs a sacrifice, and she's willing to give it. Maybe too willing. After all, this man is lust incarnate; a woman would have to be insane not to want him, even if he is dangerous.

90% sex, 10% plot.
Revisado: 08-29-21
There is so little plot in this story that I'm having trouble caring enough to finish it. The narrator is fine but there's only so much she can do.

Historia
When Supernatural Investigation Bureau agent Bluebell Kildare (a.k.a. Blue) arrives at the scene of the crime, it's obvious the grotesquely damaged body of the deceased teenage boy was caused by far more than a simple hit and run; and she vows to catch the killer. Using her innate sixth sense, Blue uncovers a powerful magical artifact nearby. She soon discovers it acts as a key to an ancient Grimoire that was instrumental in the creation of the Vampire breed and still holds the power to unravel the boundaries between Earth and the Plane of Fire.

Great world building, idiotic plot devices
Revisado: 08-21-15
What did you like best about The Light Who Shines? What did you like least?
The world building was well thought out and interesting. Unfortunately, many of the plot devices were idiotic. As an example, the heroine watches a known villain slowly materialize and doesn't think to pull her gun until after he has kidnapped her. This happens right after her supernatural guardian wolf has run off for no apparent reason. Some other plot elements such as the behavior of her centuries old vampire boss were jarring and made no sense.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The story would be excellent if the author had put as much thought into the plot as she did in the world building.
What does Elizabeth Klett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
There were some word mispronunciations and odd pacing but otherwise she was all right.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No.

Unless you loved Twilight, don't waste your money
Revisado: 03-09-15
What disappointed you about Glory: The Legend Begins?
All the characters, even the immortal ones, acted like teenagers.
What was most disappointing about Devin O'Branagan’s story?
It had a promising beginning but quickly bogged down with random trivia that only a teenager could love.
