This fast paced story kept me reading until the end. Although read by a virtual narrator, the characters and the plot were well enough developed for this not to be such an issue. I would definitely read other books by this writer.

I have just finished listening to these accounts of zombie outbreaks triggered by different events - a meteor, a mysterious malevolent app and a recreational drug gone wrong. The stories were excellent, and the virtual voice narration surprisingly good with nuances similar to human narrations. Oddly, there is no page for the books on the Audible website, but I hope my review gets posted somewhere to counterbalance the only review that is, in my opinion, unfairly negative. I definitely recommend this collection of zombie apocalypse stories.

Having read many negative reviews, I was worried what I was letting myself in for when I started listening. I’m glad I gave it a chance and I listened to all 6 books, enjoying each one. The first 3 involve a couple and people they combine forces with to recover their daughter and support local police targeted by violent prison gangs who escape when security systems fail due to an EMP. The second 3 involve different characters impacted by the same EMP, and begins on a cruise ship. I enjoyed the story lines, as well as the narration, listening all the way through. The resolution to the questions raised about the EMP only comes at the very end, though, and I wish that, as well as seeing how the characters from 4-6 fared following the main events, the author had also revisited the characters from 1-3 to see how they reacted after the big reveal, and managed afterwards. I’m glad that I wasn’t put off by the negative reviews, and would recommend giving it a go.

Excellent & Inspiring Post Apocalyptic Novel.

This was an excellent and inspiring post apocalyptic novel that, unusually, does not leave you despairing for humanity. With most of the population dead from a pandemic, a family, along with others they collect along their way, strive to survive and thrive with dwindling resources and no energy grid to rely on. Whereas other novels like this dwell on, and even relish, the darkest aspects of humanity, this shows us how people can pull together, helping each other to create new and better communities following the collapse of civilisation. In other words, a novel that gives you hope. The storyline was further enhanced by Scott Brick's excellent narration. The only downside for me was that, with just 5 hours of the book to go, I looked for other books by Brad Manuel on Audible, only to find that there are none! Happily, though, he has written other books that are available on Kindle. Here's hoping that they are available on Audible soon. Preferably with Scott Brick narrating. Definitely recommended!

I actually made it 34 stories. All different, but equally enjoyable. This is definitely a worthwhile cause that the book sales are supporting, so hopefully there have been plenty of sales. I was quite shocked, though, to hear that the costs of health care are not covered for children in America, as they are in Britain. In case it is helpful for anyone, the list of Offerings is as follows:
1. Dare - Michael Robertson
2. Unintended Consequences - Heath Stallcup
3. If You Find This - W.J. Lundy
4. Grand Escape - Michelle Bryan
5. I Guess This Is Growing Up - Brian Parker
6. My Zombie Mom - A. R. Shaw
7. Cut - Jack Wallen
8. Zero - Adrianne Lemke
9. Bird and Ninja’s Most Unexpected Zombie Situation - Shawn Chesser
10. Pink Nail Polish - Shannon Walters

16. A Sister’s Promise - James Dean
17. Saturday Night Zombie Jamboree - John Gregory Hancock
