London, 1925. Sebastian de Leon is adjusting to life after three years spent enthralled by blood magic. I've become a big fan of Therin's work!
Revisado: 07-01-24
You know how some books in this genre are just various tropes strung together? Therin's work is the opposite of that. There are so many enjoyable things about her books. Therin is good with character and development, world-building, plot, pacing, dialogue, and non-embarrassing spicy scenes that occasionally devolve into humor or just falling asleep. It's wonderful fun.

Historia
Lodging-house keeper Clem Talleyfer prefers a quiet life. He's happy with his hobbies, his work - and especially with his lodger Rowley Green, who becomes a friend over their long fireside evenings together. If only neat, precise, irresistible Mr. Green were interested in more than friendship. Rowley just wants to be left alone - at least until he meets Clem, with his odd, charming ways and his glorious eyes. Two quiet men, lodging in the same house, coming to an understanding...it could be perfect.

A wonderful listen
Revisado: 02-06-21
This kind of romance story is my guilty pleasure, but I don't feel guilty about this book at all. It was well-written and interesting from start to finish. The characters, dialogue, and narrative pace were all wonderful. Even the cover, which I assumed was a generic romance novel image, is in fact accurately illustrating a particular scene in the book. There are so many dumb tropes in this genre that the author completely avoided. Just lovely!
I was also happy with the narrator. This book is a good one to listen to as there are several different accents at play, and one of the characters tends to shift back to the accent of his childhood when under emotional strain. The narrator was able to bring all that to life.
Am off now to see what else this author has written.
