Foul language
Revisado: 07-17-24
I started to listen to this podcast because I believed the host knew a lot of information about the subject. I didn't expect profanity. I won't be listening again.

Historia
When small-town police officers discover the grave of a young boy, they’re quick to pin the crime on a convicted criminal who lives nearby. But when it comes to murder, Officer Susan Marlan never trusts a simple explanation, so she’s just getting started. Meanwhile, college professor Eric Evans hallucinates a young boy in overalls: a symptom of his schizophrenia - or so he thinks. But when more bodies turn up, Eric has more visions, and they mirror details of the murder case.

I didn't make it through the first scene before I had to turn it off. I don't think much of a narrator who would read such trash aloud. Yeech!.

Historia
The Kentuckiana Dog Show Cluster is not to be missed. Ellie Gates Wanamaker, a former standard poodle exhibitor and a member of a well-heeled Kentucky family, has been out of the dog show world for more than a decade, but when Melanie invites her to spectate at the Louisville Kennel Club dog show, she's eager to accompany her. Miss Ellie's presence at the expo center, however, provokes mixed reactions from exhibitors she hasn't seen in years, including some outright animosity. The following day Melanie learns that Miss Ellie has suffered a fatal accident while exercising her dogs.

Boring Narrator
Revisado: 08-02-21
Jessica Almasy used to irritate me, but I realize now that she was better than I thought. Her voice for Aunt Peg was wonderful. This new narrator speaks too slowly and sounds bored with the story. Nearly every character speaks in the same voice. She mispronounces words--even the author's name! I'm seriously considering returning the next book unread.

Reader needs to look up unfamiliar words
Revisado: 03-14-21
The performance was okay, but the narrator mispronounced several ordinary words she clearly didn't understand. One of them might not be her fault. The author continually uses the word "clamored" when it should be "clambered".

Historia
Millions of people have thrilled to best-selling authors Bill O'Reilly and historian Martin Dugard's Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln, works of nonfiction that have changed the way we view history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly 2,000 years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God.

Shattered
Revisado: 10-05-18
Dick Francis lost his beloved wife and stopped writing after this novel, so the title is perfect. it isn't his best plotted work, but the subject is fascinating and there isn't a Dick Francis I don't enjoy rereading. The narrator ruined the Audible version. He sounded computer-generated: monotone, mechanical and bored, even during the murderous Rose's scorching rampage. I will never forget his name because I am determined never to again suffer his voice.

Whidbey Island, a place of secrets and mystery, is home now for Becca King, still in hiding from her criminal stepfather. But Becca and her friends have new worries, as a series of fires are being set, the latest causing a fatality. Is one of the newcomers to blame? Most annoying narrator EV-ER
Revisado: 09-22-16
I read everything Elizabeth George writes. I don't really like this series and, after reading the print edition of "Edge of the Water," I realize that the Audible narrator is the cause. She speaks in an over-enunciated monotone bored whine and has a dreadful habit of pronouncing "them" as "thum" and "something" as "sthumthing". Unfortunately, there are hundreds of those two words in the work. I ended this novel depressed and irritable. I bought the final installment, but I don't think even George is enough incentive to convince me to subject myself to that appalling voice. I wish I could return it.

Don't buy this unless you like hearing profanity
Revisado: 04-22-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the author realized she could write a profane character without using the actual words.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing written by Kerry Greenwoof.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She said the nasty words.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
As far as I am concerned, anyone who ambushed me that way has written a worthless book.
Any additional comments?
I have heard so much profanity on Audible books that I don't intend to buy another audio book. You might consider warning your listeners about bad language. Better yet, stop recording it.
