Historia
Assisting an overwhelmed insurance appraiser with the inventory, Addie discovers an 1887 magazine containing Arthur Conan Doyle's first Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet, which she estimates to be worth over $150,000. But when Addie later finds the appraiser dead in the estate's private library, with the door bolted from the inside, and the priceless edition missing, it's a mystery worthy of the Great Detective himself. She's certain the death and the robbery are connected - but who, other than a ghost who can walk through walls, could have gotten in to do the deed?

Did not enjoy it
Revisado: 01-18-25
The story was fair, the dialogue grueling, the character development abysmal. I couldn't stand it and I just wanted it to be over. I can't stand Simon, without him it would be bearable.

I do love being immersed in Ireland
Revisado: 10-07-24
It was so-so, let me explain. No, too long, let me sum up. The parts with past Ali started off boring, but near they middle really picked up. The end was juicily foreseeable and gratifying. The characters were a little bit, I feel, not whole. They felt incomplete, like I didn't know anyone so I couldn't feel invested.

Pretty Enchanting
Revisado: 10-05-24
A quite interesting read. People comparing the show to the books are wrong that the first few seasons came from nowhere are mistaken, they're clearly taken from this "collection of short stories." Honestly, there were parts that absolutely entranced me.

Absolutely, excruciatingly beautiful
Revisado: 09-13-24
I loved every second of it, entranced and enthralled. My Gramma and I bonded over stories like this and it warms my heart to be able to knit and listen like I used to watch her knit and tell me stories.
The characters, Maria in particular, are crafted so lovingly and thoughtfully. It's thought provoking and courageous. I truly adored it.

With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

Her father appears to have forgotten to pick her up, her mother has forgotten to give her this week’s pocket money, and the school is already locked for the day. With no way to call home, she resigns herself to waiting on the steps until her father remembers her. When a girl approaches, Vaka recognizes her immediately from class and from her unusual appearance: two of her fingers are missing. The girl lives at the back of the school, and Vaka asks to call her father from the girl's house. That afternoon is the last time anyone sees Vaka.

A stunning example of "See something, say something."
Revisado: 08-13-24
What I treasure most about Yrsa's books is the way her main characters never Back Down from what is right. This storyline, like the first, is incredibly exceptional in its own way. I loved the continuation of character development and little quirks, I felt strongly for holdar/Huldar.

The words say less come to mind
Revisado: 07-31-24
Overall, it was a very nicely strewn together story. thrilling, captivating, romantic, but I felt it lacking in scenery and heart. though I tried, I never truly connected with this book like I hoped I would and because of that I found myself tuning it out quite a lot. there were moments and I was very lost and confused because I hadn't been paying attention and I completely neglected most of the plot.
My overall experience was that Michael was a better fit and a better man.

A nice cozy mystery
Revisado: 07-18-24
It was pretty chill and even paced, the characters were fun and intriguing. The plot was well crafted, interesting and mysterious. If I had to admit, there was a certain something missing that I can't put my finger on, which did make it hard for me to get into, but I did enjoy it. A very nice cozy mystery, especially since I knit while listening to it.

Revisado: 07-16-24
It was OK lol. Didn't enjoy the constant yammering, that got old so fast, but the rest of it was interesting.
The plot wasn't strong but it was a fun cozy mystery. I did enjoy the characters and the funny banter. I'd recommend.

I didn't hate it, I found it a little bit of bland; no scenery or location descriptions or character details. The story was wanting, but on the whole, I enjoyed it.
