Historia
Mild-mannered sheep farmer Albert Stark is fed up with the harsh life of the American frontier, where it seems everything and anything can kill you: Duels at high noon. Barroom brawls. Poisonous snakes. Cholera-infected drinking water. Tumbleweed abrasion. Something called “toe-foot.” Even a trip to the outhouse. Yes, there are a million ways to die in the wild, wild West, and Albert plans to avoid them all. Some people think that makes him a coward. Albert calls it common sense.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 10-16-20
I used to be a big fan of Seth McFarlane and Family Guy. I thought I might enjoy this story even though I never took the time to see the movie. It was part of a 2 for 1 credit, so I decided to give it a chance. There were parts that were funny, but it didn't really connect with me. It seems to be better suited for teenage boys. I guess I'm just not part of that audience anymore. I need to go now so I can get another Werther's Original and go tell at those damn kids to get off my grass.

Historia
It Worked for Me is filled with vivid experiences and lessons learned that have shaped the legendary career of the four-star general and former Secretary of State Colin Powell. At its heart are Powell's "Thirteen Rules" - such as "Get mad, then get over it" and "Share credit" - that introduce his principles for effective leadership: conviction, hard work, and, above all, respect for others. A natural storyteller, Powell offers warm and engaging parables with wise advice on succeeding in the workplace and beyond.

Entertaining Story
Revisado: 09-21-20
General Colin Powell is a very accomplished man with some great stories. They are entertaining as well as inspirational. It was nice to hear him read it himself. I will definitely listen to it again.

Historia
At once profoundly personal and far-reaching, Exit Interview with My Grandmother serves as a meditation on the beginning of a young woman’s life and the series of questions that arise from examining love, loss, family, memory, and death. Moving between cities and centuries, Meyersohn probes her family's Jewish history and her grandparents' relationships in part to decipher her own young queer relationships, but also to examine how we ought to behave in the face of a world riddled with uncertainty and doubt.

Not for me
Revisado: 07-21-20
My grandfather (last grandparent) passed away 3 weeks before starting this book. I thought it might help in some way by listening to a relatable story. Our circumstances couldn't be more different - age, gender, religion, lifestyle. I finished the book because it was so short but it never really connected with me.
