I was heartbroken when the Twisted Luck series ended, so this visit with old friends (and making new ones!) was just what I needed. So excited for the possibility of seeing some of those characters in new adventures 🤩

The narration really brings the characters to life

I've read the whole series and loved it, but the audio version has just blown me away. The narrator really captured the essence of each character and brought them to life. I can't tell you how happy I am that books 2+ are finally in audio!

after the first few of the series, the narrator has been pretty... um, well, not great (I'm sorry if you're reading this). Her voice is great, but speech is staccato and flat. I'm pretty close to just reading instead.

I love being sucked back into the world of mythicals, and the Cascadia reference from Sophie Feegle was a surprise bonus. Seriously, I'd deliver coffee and pastries, even fold laundry, if that helped this author get the next book out faster! (but I wouldn't actually put the laundry away, that's a hard boundary 😏)

only able to make it through half due to horrible narration

I lasted halfway through chapter 6, but just couldn't make it through any more of the Hunter chapters. Somehow, the guy started at stilted and robotic, then got worse. The female narrator was fantastic, but I don't think I'm getting the whole story by skipping chapters and only listening to hers.

Favorite series so far!

I've been a huge fan for years, but I'm kinda over sex scenes. This series has the same creative world building, kickass heroines, action, and snarky banter I adore, but without needing to skip ahead through the sexy times. So glad she's writing UF series, and thanks to the callbacks to the Earth's Magic books, I've just purchased that series to devour, too! 😁

I absolutely adored this book! I'm not Jewish, not religious at all, but I loved learning more about the holiday and Shabbat, and some new Yiddish words. Yes, I had to Google a few terms here and there, but that was part of the fun! Thank you for giving me a deeper understanding of so many wonderful traditions 🥰

I found book 1 of the series through one of those sales audible runs all the time, 8 years after it had been published. I was hooked! I've spent the past week or two immersed in John Charming's world, laughing, crying, chewing on my nails, manicure be damned. Apparently, the author hasn't published anything else, and now I have to figure out what to do with my life and reprioritize sh-- er, stuff.

I don't even have or want kids, but I still fell in love with Dustin and Abby reading the book, and hearing their voices gave me the warm & fuzzies all over again. Or maybe it should be the warm & fluffies in this case? Because everyone needs more fluffiness in their lives 🥰 Also, this awesome narrator brought the characters to life perfectly, even with switching between adult males/females, tween boy/ girl, and very young boy/girl. Each character voice was distinct, and actually matched up exactly with how I "heard" it in my head while reading.

If you haven't listened to the rest of the series, this will still be a great story, but so much better if you understand the family history and side characters. Plus, the other books in the series are phenomenal, so why miss out? 🤷‍♀️

Great story, mostly great narrator

I loved the book, and loved this narrator for Kit's voice, but his female voices were cringe worthy at points. If you are the type of person who won't let that pull you out of the story, enjoy the adventure. If something like that will pull you away from the action, go get the book. Either way, Kit and Lienna's story is fun and exciting, and I can't wait to see where their adventures take them.
