Historia
Jack Hare, a tough, young cowboy, owes his life to August Naab, the stern but kind old settler who rescued him from sure death and offered him refuge. But Hare soon learns that Naab's Utah ranch is little more than an island paradise surrounded by a sea of danger. Hare must meet the challenge of a brazen gang of cattle thieves and of a corrupt rancher who attempts to steal Naab's water rights. But Hare faces even greater danger when he fights for the woman he loves: Mescal, the slender half-Navajo shepherdess who is already promised in marriage to Naab's firstborn son. Hare knows he must stop the marriage but he can't kill the son of his benefactor - that is, until a gun battle with a band of rustlers brings the two face-to-face over drawn pistols!

Problem with the recording.

I liked the story and reading. There was a problem with the recording. Every word the narrator read was faintly repeated after he read it.

Historia
From the best-selling author of Riders of the Purple Sage, comes another classic Western tale. In the spirit and glory of a classic Western, and published exactly as the author originally intended, Knights of the Range, is one of Zane Grey's swiftest and most exciting novels.

A Remarkable Ending!
Revisado: 07-30-23
Usually, I think each Zane Grey book I read is better than the last. Knights of the Range was no exception. Engaging from beginning and had a surprise ending! Very well performed by John McClain.

Historia
The Lindsay family has come west hoping to help the father, John, recover from an illness. When they arrive, they are induced to purchase Spanish Peaks Ranch, an abandoned United States military post surrounded by mountains. It seems like a perfect place to settle into their new life as ranchers. As they soon find out, though, this deserted fort is equally suited for both protection and imprisonment.

Powerful characters and story.

Performance could have been better. The reading was slower than the characters interaction would have been.

Remarkable book.
Revisado: 06-26-23
This was the first Zane Grey book I have read. It won’t be the last. It is a remarkable story, interesting characters and a beautiful description of Utah’s stone cliffs and valleys.
