I'm 32, spend most of my time alone and seeing how the next chapters of my life are going to be more of the same if I don't make a change. I don't have the answers but now I have a few things I can try out and dig deeper into.

I finished it in a day. It sums up what you probably think about annoying platitudes people with no idea what they are talking about say. She replaces them with ones that make sense rather than give you the impulse to cuss someone out for giving useless cookie cutter ideas.

I can plow through a book like this in one session beginning to end and a second time to really absorb the ideas.

Not this one. The goal is to understand conservatives. The book is loaded with hyperbole, logical fallacy, anecdotal evidence, loose definitions and figures of speech.

She goes on and on about the extremist left, how they don't hide their agenda (as if they should for some reason) and how they are attacking the Christian values this country was "built on"

There is minimal logic and a lack of structure that leaves you wondering what on Earth she is talking about.

I'm writing this off as a bad example and looking for another author to get the understanding I'm looking for.

Long story short; author is humble enough to look to other men to learn what he thinks he is missing. After following the "Manliest" men he could find he learns where what he is looking for is.

I can't get behind everything it says in this book; I can however appreciate how uncompromising the author is in saying exactly what he thinks. I really do appreciate the way he trivializes things like sports, celebrity gossip, and network TV. On one hand I can not belittle things that others find interesting because I do not. On the other hand "Sportsball" sums up my opinion on the subject quite well.

If you have ever held your tongue because your idea would put a target on your back by peers, employers, etc.; this book will not tell you anything you have not already thought about. It will demonstrate that you are not crazy, arrogant, harsh, mentally disconnected, or alone.
