I highly recommend this series. This is a great end to an amazing series! The series built really well, and R.C. Bray really brings it to life. If you are thinking about this series, then start from book 1 and read the Mavericks; it all goes together and is awesome.

I love how Richard Fox incorporates the other author's spin-off series. He seems to read them and incorporate them seamlessly, and it just adds to how great of an author he is.

Awesome Story

Does this story seem like it is targeting young adult readers? Yes it does, but it is refreshing to have a good story sometimes. I know people like to have nearly everyone die, but I loved the story and how everything came together. If you like a good story by an author that knows what they are doing then this is for you.

Civil War 1984 Style

What if instead of having honest Abe as president we had a socialist group holding power? What if the people were held in a constant state of emergency so the government could take away constitutional rights? Would there be people to stand up to the socialist government trying to hold to their money and slaves? If you want to hear about this kind of start to the Civil War then read this book. It is well played out story for how it would look for a group claiming to be democratic yet pushing socialist views on a free public.

This series has been great and this book has been amazing. I love R.C. Bray narrating and he really brings the story to life. If you are on the edge the story is great but it does end on a cliff hanger...

Another Great Book

Sanderson always seems to find a way to bring great books, and he did it again on this one. If you are hesitating because it seems mystical or psychological you should stop hesitating. It is a great story with a good conclusion.

Is this a political book?
There is such deep prejudice that it is disgusting. The author paints a picture of mankind at its worst. By day 5 without power and electronics the author has the "refugees" acting as a mob. And the whole "be scared of any non-government person with a gun" idea is blown out of proportion. The author paints a picture of the military and the police being mindless people that just follow orders, but the moment they leave service they turn into gun wielding maniacs. That seems to be a revolving theme along with mankind without government is going to be a wild mob.

Emotional Roller Coaster

I think all of the books draw you in but this one seems a roller coaster of emotions. At the end of the last book I expected all the characters to be perfect, all better and all that but that would be just a typical hero story. Sanderson makes the characters more real by bringing their life's problems to life and highlighting the struggles that someone with similar issues faces. So when I say I loved the book know that this book is a typical Sanderson book and will draw you in and hold you.
