Historia
Thor—Son of Odin, God of Thunder, wielder of the hammer Mjolnir—is dead. And Loki is responsible. It was only meant to be a joke—tampering with the Destroyer, changing Thor’s course to Midgard—a bit of mischief with a chance of maiming. But Loki's harmless prank spiraled out of control, unleashing death and destruction on New York City and the heroes sworn to protect it. The city was saved, but at the cost of Thor’s life.

A shockingly mature and powerful story
Revisado: 10-25-24
It is truly impressive how much they managed to do. I expected this to be an enjoyable but simple story about Loki being noble and worthy from the get-go. Instead I got an excellent story I couldn’t stop listening to. It took me only a day to finish it.

Historia
To earn a pardon and avoid prison or execution, Timmy, Grand Necromancer and Lord of Black Tower Castle, has been completing missions for the Council with the help of an elite team of truly heroic individuals. There’s Katie, his apprentice. She’s brilliant, cunning, and maniacally devious. She’s also 10 years old, extremely adorable, and loves billowy robes and the color pink. There’s Avraniel, the pyromaniac elf who is responsible for more property damage than anyone in Everton’s history (including dragons, natural disasters, and demon gods).

Historia
The Sheep Dragon is a collection of 14 short stories set before, during, and after the first four parts of The Unconventional Heroes series. Each story addresses questions of world-shaking importance like: Is it possible for a young dragon to watch over a flock of sheep without those sheep ending up in his stomach? What do necromancers actually do at necromancer conventions? And what is the best way to deal with a surprise demonic invasion?

Historia
Simon is the best delivery boy that Mr Edwards’s restaurant has ever had. He’s on time every time, and he’s gotten nothing but good reviews. But he needs more money. His mother’s medical treatment won’t pay for itself, and his father is already working three jobs to try to make ends meet. But it might just be his lucky day: Mr. Edwards has another job for him. It’s more delivery work, but not the usual kind. You might even say that it’s out of this world. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers, and the pay is fantastic.

An enjoyable time, Estrella’s weakest work
Revisado: 12-22-22
L.G. Estrella once again gives us a charming world filled with interesting ideas and funny concepts. However this feels a bit like a redux when compared to her other work, like the ‘Two Necromancers’ series and the wonderful world building of ‘The Attempted’ series. The character work is as usual a tad weak but functions well enough for this story. Overall not a book I love, but I still enjoyed it.

Historia
Sinclair Rutherford is a young Seattle cop with a taste for the finer things. Doing menial tasks and getting hassled by superiors he doesn't respect are definitely not "finer things". Good police work and bad luck lead him to crack a case that changes quickly from a career-making break into a high-profile humiliation when footage of his pursuit of the suspect - wildly inappropriate murder weapon in hand - becomes an Internet sensation.

Another common Scott Meyer failure
Revisado: 12-22-22
I have read nearly every book Scott Meyer has written, with the exceptions of the sequel to this book, Master of Formalities, and Run Program. And I can say with confidence that he is easily one of the most talentless authors I have ever read. Interesting and unique concepts abound within his books, I am quite the fan of his book ‘An Unwelcome Quest’ for example. For its thoroughly unique premise and genuinely funny writing. But most of his books are not nearly that funny, this one included. It’s a bland uninteresting story brought to life with the flattest writing I have ever had the displeasure of listening to. I’d rather read something terribly written, that listening to this blandly written mush that goes in one ear and out the other. This book is without an ounce of charm, intrigue, or comedy. As is most of Scott Meyers work.

Two necromancers, a dwarf kingdom, and a sky city - it sounds like a prelude to mayhem, and given Timmy’s luck, that’s exactly what’s going to happen. To keep his castle and earn his pardon, Timmy has his work cut out for him. Whether it’s rescuing princesses, crushing hordes of goblins, or dealing with eldritch abominations, Timmy and the gang are there to save the day - and rob the occasional crime lord. But saving the day isn’t always easy.

A story with grand scale and intrigue
Revisado: 05-26-22
This book is hands down the best book in the series. The unconventional heroes series continues to one up itself in both scale and concept. The world it presents is one of the most fascinating and complex fantasy worlds I have ever had the pleasure of reading. From falling stars to cosmic horrors, this book blends lovecraftian imagery with bombastic fantasy brawls and battles.

This is the first podcast I simply decided to listen to and I am very pleased that I chose it. One of the points brought up in the first episode that I found truly fascinating was Fermi’s question of “So where is everyone?” Stuck with me and I look forward to seeing these questions explored.

Revisado: 05-04-21
This book took a different approach then it’s predecessors. While it is still episodic the episodes flow together far more making it feel far more like one full story. I also liked Deborah as a character. Her speech patterns felt truly epic to listen to. I would’ve liked seeing a bit more of the characters we know and have grown to love. But overall this is a great book. And The story of Fred surviving in the wilderness is nothing short of incredible, it may very well be my favorite of all of the episodes.

Historia
When you discover the world is a computer program, and you figure out that by altering the code you can time travel and perform acts that seem like magic, what can possibly go wrong? Pretty much everything. Just ask Brit, who has jumped around in time with such abandon that she has to coexist with multiple versions of herself. Now, Brit the Elder finds that her memories don't match Brit the Younger's.

So this book’s purpose was literally to break Philip and Brit up. That’s it it adds nothing else to the series as a whole but just breaks Philip and Brit up. And they do it in literally the most sexist , stupid, and awful way possible. The Author’s lost his touch.
