Historia
Fat Joe is a hip-hop legend, but this is not a tale of celebrity; it is the story of Joseph Cartagena, a kid who came of age in the South Bronx during its darkest years of drugs, violence, and abandonment, and how he navigated that traumatizing landscape until he found—through art, friendship, luck, and will—a rocky path to a different life. This memoir, written in Joe’s own intensely compelling voice, moves with the momentum of pulp fiction, but underneath the tragicomedy and riveting tales of the streets and the industry is a thought-provoking story about a generation of survivors.

Great story
Revisado: 08-18-23
A very entertaining book. This would not have been as fun to listen to if it were narrated by another person, so kudos to Fat Joe for narrating all 24 chapters himself.

Great account by someone who did it
Revisado: 05-26-23
It’s great to read a book about startups that was written by someone who actually created a startup.
Also, there is little motivational filler; a lot of the advice is immediately applicable.
That fact that it’s narrated by the author is a cool bonus.
Great job to Rob Walling.

Needs a Part 2
Revisado: 08-26-22
This is a great book for anyone thinking about getting into the accounting field.
Colleges are mainly focused on technical skills of accounting. This book augments it by reminding its reader of the other necessary fundamental skills that are often skipped over in classes.
It also points out valuable considerations such as specialized knowledge, which naturally leads to the question——which specific industry should I focus on?
The book is also a relatively quick read. I hope there a part two that goes into depth about the common issues most newer and mid-level accountants face.
It’s a valuable book overall and will hopefully give a newer reader a better understanding of how many opportunities exist in the accounting profession and how to build their skillset to take advantage of them.
