Historia
From the best-selling author of The Handmaid's Tale and The Testaments - one of Margaret Atwood’s most unforgettable characters lurks at the center of this intricate novel like a spider in a web. The glamorous, irresistible, unscrupulous Zenia is nothing less than a fairy-tale villain in the memories of her former friends. Roz, Charis, and Tony - university classmates decades ago - were reunited at Zenia’s funeral and have met monthly for lunch ever since, obsessively retracing the destructive swath she once cut through their lives.

Stunningly horrible
Revisado: 07-02-24
Boring and depressing story of 3 women (friends) who succumb time and again to a con artist (former friend). Author spends hours describing these 3 women in minute detail all the way back to their childhoods, Torture to listen to. Noteworthy only for how much I hated it.

Meh

Technically a very carefully crafted and well written book. Unfortunately though, the story is just not that interesting or compelling. Never had that 'can't wait to get back to it' feeling and never minded turning it off when interrupted.

Historia
This is a love story. But it is also a detective story. And best of all, it is a true story, told here for the the first time. Gilbert Keith Chesterton was a romantic, a writer of detective tales, and a teller of the truth. His own story and the stories he told are becoming better and better known. But what has remained unknown is the story of the most important person in his life: his wife Frances. Nancy Carpentier Brown has done incredible detective work to uncover the mystery of Frances, tracking a figure who managed to leave very few traces of herself. It is quite likely that as more is...

A Biography of ...... who?
Revisado: 03-10-24
Still unsure as to why this woman was the subject of an entire book. Yes, she was a minor (very minor) poet and author in her own right but her main claim to fame was being married to an author whose writing and fame far eclipsed her's. This book ultimately highlights this fact despite claiming an intent not to do so. The author glosses over the subject's most interesting pathology: she requests her husband not mention her at all in his autobiography - and he complies! Now, this is self-abnegation worth investigating. Ditto for the way the subject infantilized her husband (e.g., she tied his shoes for him) which left one wondering if she was his lover or his mother. Ewww... The AI narration was pleasant to listen to but there were a few glitches of dead space before the voice picked up narration again and of course, a few mispronunciations (most notably Knute Rockne's name). In general though, I liked the narration.

Basic and [Somewhat] Boring
Revisado: 07-15-23
The author should be up front that this is a book geared to people who are looking to establish a personal brand, not people who are primarily product marketers and not relying on customers knowing them in order to make the sale. Gives mostly basic info that can be found for free through numerous YouTube videos on the subject. The most interesting part came at the very end when the author details how she gave away 50% of her 7-figure business without so much as a cursory consult with an attorney. Boy, I've made some bonehead moves in my entrepreneurial career but that beats me all to heck. Ended the book feeling way better about my business acumen. Thanks, Amy.

Red Mountain in eastern Washington is home to a community of eccentrics. Otis Till, the area's visionary winemaker, has been known to howl at the moon - fully nude. Single mother Margot Pierce moved across the country to build an inn, but so far all she does is binge on gelato, the Hallmark Channel, and fantasies of murdering her ex. High school senior Emilia Forester is the daughter of celebrity parents struggling to build her own life outside of their shadow.

Boring
Revisado: 06-08-23
Most important thing to realize about this book is that there is no story. No plot. It appears to be just a recitation of different characters daily lives and their mundane activities (with random, gratuitous, and vividly described sex thrown in for good measure). Characters are stereotypical without any complex nuance. The writing bounces between sophomoric and maudlin. Overall, only a baby step above a romance novel. Pass.

The methods contained within this book are so simple, so instantaneous, and so effective, it’s as if they work by magic. If you implement even one tactic in this book, you’ll see the change in your prospects' demeanor. And you’ll know the $100M Offers method worked when you start hearing, “What do I need to do to move forward?” before you even ask for the sale.
