Historia
On the night of January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler leaned out of a spotlit window of the Reich chancellery in Berlin, bursting with joy. The moment seemed unbelievable, even to Hitler. After an improbable political journey that came close to faltering on many occasions, his march to power had finally succeeded. While the path of Hitler's rise has been told in books covering larger portions of his life, no previous work has focused solely on his eight-year climb to rule: 1925-1933.

Horrifying Story - Yet So Real
Revisado: 06-11-22
Backroom scheming by petty politicians leads to Hitler’s takeover of Germany and all the horrors of World War 2. Fascinating story well written and very well read.

Well read! James Franco ftw!
Revisado: 02-08-22
The story, of course is well written. James Franco is an excellent reader, men’s and women’s voices, great modulation, and just enough accent for each of the New England characters. Well done!

Historia
Following the catastrophes of the 21st century - the pandemics, the environmental disaster, the end of oil, the ensuing chaos - people are doing whatever they can to get by and pursuing a simpler and sometimes happier existence. In little Union Grove in upstate New York, the townspeople are preparing for Christmas. Without the consumerist shopping frenzy that dogged the holidays of the previous age, the season has become a time to focus on family and loved ones.

Amazing reader – Well told stories
Revisado: 01-23-22
James Meskiman may be the best narrator I have come across. I have listened to each of the titles in this series and throughout he has maintained excellent character voices, male and female. How a narrator can create such varied and rich voices is amazing to me. The stories continue to be fascinating as well. I’ll be looking into his non-fiction work as well.

Historia
Theirs is a fight to right the wrongs inflicted on them by "the white settlers." They know they are too small to take on the entire country, but they don't need to. Over a few tension-filled days as the battles rages over abundant energy resources, the frantic prime minister can only watch as the insurrection paralyzes the country. But when energy-dependent Americans discover the southward flow of Canadian hydroelectricity, oil, and natural gas is halted, they do not remain passive.

What if Canada came apart? What would it mean to the US?
Revisado: 01-04-22
Well written and very well read. Fascinating look at the internal politics and domestic policy of Canada and possible implications for the US. It really does, as another reviewer wrote, read like some of the best non-fiction military history. What would be the implications of something like this happening among the native people of the US?

Historia
The electricity has flickered out. The automobile age is over. In Union Grove, a little town in upstate New York, the future is nothing like people thought it would be. Life is hard and close to the bone. Transportation is slow and dangerous, so food is grown locally at great expense of time and energy, and the outside world is largely unknown. There may be a president, and he may be in Minneapolis now, but people aren’t sure.

Well written and well read!
Revisado: 11-13-21
A very levelheaded and realistic imagining of a future without oil or electricity. It seems to avoid the hyper Violet excess of some post apocalyptic stories.
