Historia
Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it. So Clementine forms a plan to keep her heart safe: work hard, find someone decent to love, and try to remember to chase the moon. The last one is silly and obviously metaphorical, but her aunt always told her that you needed at least one big dream to keep going. And for the last year, that plan has gone off without a hitch. Mostly. The love part is hard because she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone—she isn’t sure her heart can take it.

Historia
Men in Black meets Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum in the new urban fantasy novel starring seer Makenna Fraser and her fellow agents at Supernatural Protection & Investigation. The agents of Supernatural Protection & Investigations (SPI) know that fighting evil is a full-time job, especially when a new designer drug - with mind-blowing side effects - hits the streets. It's called Brimstone. And after the first few hits, you'll see every supernatural beast sharing the sidewalk, train, or office with you.

Great listen but...
Revisado: 06-28-22
The character and setting details in these stories are repetitive. I could understand if these were standalone but since they're in a series, by book 2, you already know so much about people. That being said, each storyline is really good! These are definitely books you listen to while doing something else, that way you can tune in to the juicy/funny/gaspy bits and tune out of the rewritten descriptions. Johanna Parker is a gem though. Phenomenal narrator!

It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

this was absolutely the cutest love story I've listened to in a while! there was no smut (which is unusual for me) but I forget how much I love a good meet-cute/getting-to-know-you story. read it. it was a palate cleanser for me but one that was extremely enjoyable! 5 stars all around.

Story was amazing Chris' voice not so much.
Revisado: 09-09-21
Read this one. Don't listen. I like this narrator but she made Chris' voice the same as it was when he was 17 in the first book and that was weird for me. Even his little brother Josh's voice had matured in this book, but not his and I'm not sure why. The story itself was really good but that's no surprise because R.L. is amazing. but like I said, read it, don't listen.

Historia
Charlotte McBee knows she’s in for a challenge when she accepts a job as midwife for a dragon and a phoenix shifter. Being a fairy herself, it isn’t the supernatural world that scares her. It’s the thought of delivering a giant metal dragon’s egg, which has her gritting her teeth in pain for poor Jillian, the anxious mother-to-be. While preparing for the big event, a handsome town resident catches her eye. Leonard is kind, charming, and a little bit mysterious. He’s also suffering from a highly unusual condition brought on by an ancient fairy curse.

Loved the concept of the game SLAY. I wish it was real. Definitely a YA read but a good one! There's a few pieces of character's stories that I had questions about in the end but overall I'm glad I listened to it.

if you've read children of blood and bone, and you were hooked - read this. we get more character development, an array of new and great side characters, and of course a chance to have your emotions running the gamut. i sighed, gasped, yelled, laughed, cried and everything in between. tomi did it again. the narrator was amazing as always (seriously how does she even?) and i finished this listen in two work shifts.

Amazing Stories!
Revisado: 11-11-20
I really liked this book. Levar Burton reads one of the stories in his current season and it made me come check it out. The narrator isn't at good as Levar (which wasn't necessarily my expectation) but she did a great job of telling each of the tales. Honestly, the stories are so well written that it'd be hard to mess up! Get into this book and enjoy the historical, fantastical and futuristic stories of these Black, Indigenous and Afro-Latin characters!

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

This book was a thorough investigation into human social behavior all within the context of the arrest and death of Sandra Bland. The way all of these other stories are woven together give you the most context and explanation of all sides through the lens of our natural inclinations before circling back to Sandra Bland is a master's course in oral history.

Historia
No one deserves a "happily ever after" quite as much as the second oldest Winston brother and his lady love Claire McClure (a.k.a. Scarlet St. Claire). Cruelty and circumstance tore them apart, almost 20 years ago. Secrecy and bitterness kept them separated. But do you know who's tired of their separation and stubbornness? Everyone. Especially Billy Winston’s family. And now, they're going to do something about it.
