The narration at the start of the book was, excuse me, annoying. I did not like the voicing for Eli or Abra. But as the book continued I actually came to enjoy it and was excited to get the who, what, and why answers.

If you enjoyed the movie Independence Day this would be a good listen. The action was great. The comic relief was funny. And I cared about all of the characters. Going in for volume 2.

I will have to keep looking. I can’t listen to this awful “performance”. As many have already commented a bilingual artist would have been a logical choice. And the absence of the salalwa is not acceptable.

I Only Finished Because I Wanted to Know Who Done It

Sadly, as with all of the other books, the main character Alison, who also happens to be a PhD, is frustratingly stupid. Her choices in most of the predicaments she finds herself in are just- ugh.

Enjoyed the narration, the story, the exceedingly clever villain, and the realistic portrayal of the main character. There was only one thing I took exception to: how easy it was to get to the key officer that unraveled everything. That was lame.

Another Good Book Spoiled By Horrible Narration

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator is horrible! This book is about a tragic school shooting. The narrator's bright and cheerful voice is more appropriate for someone trying to teach a group of daycare students. She would make a mint doing voice over for used car sales. Before recording maybe listen to some top rated audiobooks within the same genre for a clue.

Would you be willing to try another one of C. J. Critt’s performances?

No, not at this time. C.J. Critt's narration spoiled this book.

Did The Third Victim inspire you to do anything?

Patience. I wanted to "know who done it " so I kept listening. Grrrrr.

Does *ANYONE* listen to the narration before sending it to production? Does *ANYONE* give direction to the narrator? Does *ANYONE* producing these audio books have a clue? Bad narration RUINS an audio book and reflects badly on the book as a whole. As an author I would insist on some controls. Or maybe Audible can implement type of pre-release process and collect feedback on the narration. Audio books is the reason for Audible. Wouldn't it behoove Audible to insure they are offering books with the absolute best, most spot-on, narration possible?
