Truth In Advertising, Audible.
Revisado: 08-30-23
This is an excerpt of a 500+ page book, but I can't find any mention of that or of abridgement in the description. Goodreads is littered with bad reviews, many of which are due to the fact that this 'book' reads like a single chapter... because it probably is.
I don't want an abridged story. Audible already has a sleep timer function, give me the entire book.

Historia
Leonardo da Vinci created the two most famous paintings in history, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. But in his own mind, he was just as much a man of science and engineering. With a passion that sometimes became obsessive, he pursued innovative studies of anatomy, fossils, birds, the heart, flying machines, botany, geology, and weaponry.

Lots learned.
Revisado: 12-24-21
Learned a ton about da Vinci. Very well written, aside from what I felt was excessive repetition of some points. (I was begging Isaacson not to mention blue skies yet again in his conclusion... he did.)

Historia
In The Knife Man, Wendy Moore unveils John Hunter's murky and macabre world - a world characterized by public hangings, secret expeditions to dank churchyards, and gruesome human dissections in pungent attic rooms. This is a fascinating portrait of a remarkable pioneer and his determined struggle to haul surgery out of the realms of meaningless superstitious ritual and into the dawn of modern medicine.

A Hunter Biography by a writer in love with Darwin
Revisado: 06-18-21
A good biography of an interesting and complicated man vital to medical and natural history. Overall very good but would have preferred if the author hadn't been increasingly obsessed with drawing pre parallels with Darwin's career.
