Historia
Love can come softly, like holiday snow. Or sweep you away like a riptide. World-class surfer Krystal Walters would have appreciated the beauty of her surroundings - a quaint cottage in a fragrant Portuguese olive grove - if a wipeout hadn't changed all her holiday plans. Now, suffering the dizzying aftereffects of multiple concussions, she's determined to make it home to Rhode Island for Christmas, even if she has to defy doctor's orders. Except those orders are being enforced by Adolfo Silva. A man as arrogant as he is ruggedly handsome.

Love all the details!
Revisado: 12-01-22
Josie’s stories are so sweet and heartwarming but this one was so much more than that. While the story of Crystal and Adolfo was was strong by itself, the details of Portugal and their Christmas traditions add so much to it. Loved learning about the locations, the language, the food, the traditions. Two strong, determined characters trying to find their way to each other, while getting over their own personal experiences. Such wonderful characters. Another beautiful story by a fantastic author.

Love Dr Berry and his message, the narrator...not so much
Revisado: 11-05-20
My husband and I have followed Dr Berry for over a year, but I’m finally getting around to reading his book. All the information in the book is very helpful and gives you a new perspective on the medical field and what doctors have pushed for many years. We have followed the advised keto diet for the last year and have seen such improvements in our health and weight. The only downfall to this book is the fact that Dr. Berry did not narrate it himself. I think all of his fans would’ve appreciated it much better. The narrator was rather stuffy and serious, where Dr. Barry’s demeanor is much more inviting and caring. The passion he has when sharing his research comes out when he speaks. This narrator did not convey this. To piggy back off the book, do the homework and listen to Dr Berry’s YouTube videos. They dive much further into this topic.

Fantasy and Reality perfectly intertwined!
Revisado: 09-22-19
I stumbled upon Carol's books a few years ago. I have read all of her Rom-Com from the Edge series and have loved them all. I have laughed, cried, felt like I was a part of these women's lives. When she announced she was writing a book with fairies, I was pretty hesitant. Fantasy and Mysticism isn't my cup of tea. Instead, I loved it!!! Carol took her trademark humor and Rom-Com style and added fairies to it. I try not to give away any spoilers in my reviews, so I will just give you the gist of things. 3 best friends graduate college and decide to take a trip to Ireland. While on that trip they are chosen by a fairy to become the Love Pixies. It is their duty to help couples they are assigned to find they way back to each other, help rekindle their relationship. Not only do they need to deal with learning how to use their newly acquired magical powers, each of them are starting new post-graduate careers and looking for their own love interests. Each of the Pixies has a distinct personality that works with the others and helps to balance their groups. While getting their magical feet wet, they end up in hysterical situations. This is a story of discovery for each of the girls as well, as they learn where their weaknesses and strengths lie and how they can use them to their benefit. The girls need to learn how to balance their Pixie duties with their every day lives and how to be successful all around. I enjoyed the book tremendously. Just like her Rom-Com from the Edge series, I laughed, I cried, I felt like these girls could have been former students of mine. Carol did a wonderful job meshing fantasy with what could be everyday reality. Can't wait to see if there will be other Love Pixie stories, to see where the girls go with their futures as well as their future assignments. The performer did fantastic with all the pixies, their love interests and the Irish fairies helping them out. There were moments that the voices meshed, but for the most part, you knew exactly who was talking at all times.

Things turn macabre when a psychic makes a dark prediction about Franki’s brother and a frat boy is found in a cemetery crypt with his blood drained.

Franki is not ready to chase REAL Vampires
Revisado: 09-11-19
Franki Amato is living her life as a PI in New Orleans. Things are going well. Her and her partner are solving cases. She has a wonderful boyfriend...that her family wants her to get a proposal from. She doesn't expect the next cases to be based around Vampires. Traci begins investigating murders based at blood banks around NOLA. All the evidence keeps leading to possible vampires and their history in the city. While the case has her unnerved, her Grandmother and brother move in to her small apartment. Her brother is supposed to be creating a life in NOLA too, but he conveniently seems to just be enabled by Nonna. Nonna is intent on getting Franki engaged, so she resorts to Italian traditions. As always, Traci Andrighetti creates a keep you guessing mystery with lots of laughs. Since she is living with Franki, we get to see more of Nonna than the occasional phone call. She is such a great character. I really can't wait to see where Franki's next adventure takes her. Love the narrator! Easy to understand change of person. Intonation perfect based on situation.

Great characters, Living and dead!
Revisado: 09-05-19
Love Carol’s stories. I was thrilled to see she had another series starting and this included some ghosts.
Lia’s grandmother passes away and leaves her the estate... with one condition. Lia must move into an apartment complex and become the property manager / social director for the tenants. Confused by the request, Lia obeys and moves to Applebottom, VA to fulfill her Granana’s wishes. She leaves her boyfriend back in Richmond. As the story unfolds, Lia has to figure out what she really wants out of life. Does she want to move to Europe or does she want to stay in this small town? And who does she see this happening with? And how can she do this with her Grandmother’s ghost occasionally showing up? The cast of characters is hysterical. They are from all walks of life and have such distinct personalities. Can’t wait to see where the next one goes. The narrator did very well differentiating between so many people with so many distinct accents. It was easy to follow who was speaking. She seemed very enthusiastic about telling the story as well. Loved it. Def laugh out loud!

Greedy Murder
Revisado: 06-15-19
I recently got into the Danger Cove mysteries. This being the first in the Cocktail Mysteries group introduced new characters. Hope is a bartender with a secret past. She works for Bob at the Smuggler’s Tavern situated on the bluff over the water. When Bob turns up dead and Hope unexpectedly inherits everything, she is accused of murder. Bob’s ungrateful daughter and nephew make sure to contest the will and push that Hope is the murderer. In order to clear her name, Hope starts her own investigation with her friends Ruby and Vernon. She also meets Harvey, an underwater archaeologist trying to solve the mystery of a sunken ship. There are so many characters that appear to be guilty throughout the story. It’s well written and keeps you wondering. I truly enjoyed the book. So far, this is the best Danger Cove narration that I have listened to. Melissa Disney does a phenomenal job with these characters. You can hear the different feelings expressed in her voice, especially when a character is speaking vs the narrative parts. Can’t wait to hear more!

Robotic performance, good story
Revisado: 06-09-19
I have read and listened to several of the Danger Cove series. I enjoyed the story itself, the first of the Farmers Market set that I have heard. The cast of characters each had their own distinct personalities to contribute to the market. The way it was written, I thought other characters could have been the murderer. Unfortunately, this performance was horrible. I stuck through listening but at times almost gave up. It sounded like she was a monotone robot, with very little differentiation between voices. In the end, I would have much rather read the book than listened to it.

For PI Franki Amato, New Orleans is anything but The Big Easy. Her best friend and employer has assigned her an unsettling investigation - the murder of a gorgeous cosmetics CEO at an allegedly haunted plantation. Adding to Franki’s stress, her meddling Sicilian nonna is planning her engagement even though her boyfriend, Bradley, hasn’t popped the question, and his new secretary seems determined to ensure a proposal never happens. As Bradley grows distant and the plantation grows dangerous, Franki turns to a psychic who is deathly afraid of ghosts.

A plantation murder, ghosts & a sneaky secretary
Revisado: 05-29-19
When Franki Amato and Veronica Maggio are hired to Investigate the murder of a cosmetics CEO at a plantation, they never expected ghosts or other phenomenon entities coming into play. While Franki investigates the murder, she finds that her boyfriend's secretary is trying to move in on her man and ruin his career. Of course, she cannot let it go. I love how Traci normally has multiple cases going on, sometimes tied together but all usually getting Franki into some sort of trouble. These books, while murder mysteries have a lot of laugh out loud moments, Franki always manages to get herself into some sort of trouble during the investigations. Throw in the witchcraft and voodoo common to the New Orleans background as well as her overbearing, meddling Italian family, there is always fun and chaos. The narrator does a good job differentiating the different characters so you know when the person changes. Loving this series. Can't wait to see what else is in store for Franki and friends.
