I like the mistaken identity and the comic relief of the book. I can’t remember the last time a book had me laugh out loud.

Historia
Agnes Murphy Nash is the perfect Hollywood wife - she has the right friends, the right clothes, and even a side career of her own as a writer. Her husband, Trevor, is a bigshot producer, and from the outside it looks like they’re living a picture-perfect celebrity life. But the job description of a Hollywood wife doesn’t cover divorce, which is the way Agnes’ life is headed after she comes home one day to find her credit cards cancelled and the security passwords to get into her enormous LA home changed.

Narrations good, story is a quarter star
Revisado: 11-02-23
Amy McFadden is an excellent narrator. She proved it by narrating this sophomoric writing. The author wrote as if she completed a fifth grade assignment. The he said she said, I said we said was very annoying.

Historia
Raised by a widowed mother, Jill Reed has come a long way from her difficult youth. But while she may not have had money, Jill never doubted she was rich in love. Her mother, Connie, made Jill the center of her world. Now, even though she has a young family of her own, it’s Jill’s turn to care for her ailing mother. When early dementia begins to set in, Connie starts talking about Jill’s “other life.” Jill assumes it’s just rambling confusion. Still, Connie’s stories about Jill’s childhood, and her father’s early death, never quite added up.

Horrible unbelievable story
Revisado: 05-15-22
There are two many things wrong with the book to mention. Don't waste your time or money. How it has a 4.5 star rating is beyond me. The characters are all black and white with no or little dimensions, very cardboard and typical.

Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

Performance Great Story Ok
Revisado: 12-22-19
The performances of the narrators were excellent but the book should have been classified as YA and not Romantic Comedy
My 16 yo will enjoy this book. The writing and plot was just too juvenile.

Great story and narration
Revisado: 09-11-19
I purchased this audiobook under interracial romance. The narrator was excellent and the story was entertaining, with all that said it wasn't an interracial story. So I was somewhat disappointed it needs to be in the correct category of YA romance.

Not Even Enough for Good Young Adult Novel
Revisado: 06-22-18
I did not know this was a young adult novel until I start listening. It was not listened in that genre. Nevertheless, it was poorly written. I could only get through 2 hours of listening to the novel when I decided to try reading the book instead of listening to it through audiobook. Well, it just got worse from there. I decided to put the book down instead of wasting any more time on this awful book. The main character, is very whining and for a young lady of 18 the author made she seem more like a thirteen year old. Do yourself a favor don't buy, this book in any form.

Great Narration, Predictable story
Revisado: 02-01-18
Where does The Life She Wants rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The narration by Therese Plummer was excellent, it is the reason I kept listening to after the fifteen chapter where the story was so predictable. The book stop being interesting, I knew what the ending was going to be at that point. I love books with HEA ending. Riley's character was so unbelievable and lost all interested for me when she started waited for 16 years to renew a dead relationship with a man she shunned, humiliated, and demeaned throughout most of the book in because he was her daughter's father. How unrealistic is that!
What do you think your next listen will be?
I am an Audiobook junkie my next book will either be Mercer Girls by Libbie Hawker, narrated by Amy McFadden or When We Were Sister by Emilie Richards, narrated by varies artist.
Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was the first book I have listened to by Therese Plummer, she was superb I will look for her other books.
If you could take any character from The Life She Wants out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The only interesting character I would take to dinner is Logan. His character was developed by not given a good in depth storyline, he was just a place setter.
Any additional comments?
If you are looking for a easy listen with a predictable HEA ending this is the book for you. The beginning is very interesting so that will hold your attention.

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

I really enjoyed this book. I laughed so much, and the characters were enchanting. The only complaint I will give is the gay characters were not to my liking not all gay men are flaming and super gay into decorating.

Words can't Explain how horrible this book is
Revisado: 09-03-17
This book was a struggle to finish, I purchase it through my audible account in the romantic section. The story line was so simple you guess the plot by chapter 5. I can save you the $16. Woman meets famous man, go to his house they have a lot of sex, second week they are in love after having sex in every imaginable place. Man ask woman to marry him more sex, woman gets pregnant. Man and Woman have an fight. Man have an accident woman realize she loves him. Man recovers from injuries they get married and live happily ever after while having a bunch of sex. Each chapter was had 5-10 minutes of explicit sex scenes, book should have been in the erotic section not romantic there is a big difference. I had to fast forward over 60% of the book, praying that the author would develop the characters into more than sex crazed mammals. My prayers were never answeref.
