Great depth great narration solid story line

I have read hundreds of accounts of the Second World War and this ranks as one of the best series I have every read or listened to during my quest to understand what truly occurred during this period in American History.

Solid research great insight with the commanders.

But keeping the two opposing sides straight when discussing Army’s Corps battalions etc was tricky. And there were two major mistakes naming the Germans when it should have been Allied forces. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Let their sacrifice never be forgotten!

Well written account of the 345th Bomb group whose sacrifice to preserve our Nation’s and the World’s freedom is a story you can’t stop listening to. I salute all those who gave so much and lost so much to ensure our freedom !!

Great book but contrived ending is a letdown.

The authors should not construct an ending that is so full of implausible gun battles , just in time heroics etc. They are so creative and obviously had planned to continue the series that these movie type over the top endings simply are boring.
Come on guys work harder on the endings.

Not worth the one credit

While the frame of the story was interesting and many characters were developed well; the less than plausible science relegated this novel to average. The Cool Suits were absurdly fantastical and The endurance levels of the cave goers was beyond belief. And if you like blood blood blood maybe you will relish in its seemly endless depictions of death and dying but as for me this novel needed less gore and more science more suspense and less depravity.

Long winded Overly detailed yet a fantastic necessary account

The author's detailed account from the many complex origins that culminated in the making of the bomb was incredibly detailed and necessary for future generations to fully understand what went into the single most important triumph over both fascist Germany and Stalin's Totalitarian Russia.
