Brenna is on her way to an arranged wedding when she is intercepted by a group of huge highlanders. Coerced into marrying their Laird, Brenna finds herself in the middle of a feud and married to a man that she cant help but fall in love with. Now, if she can only get him to care for her....

Connor is feuding with a man he believes to be responsible for his fathers death. Ordered to leave McNair alone unless he can find proof, Connor captures McNairs bride-to-be as a last insult. But Brenna turns out to be an anomaly that threatens both his peace of mind and his heart.

This is one of those stories that you keep coming back to. The beginning is filled with misunderstandings that will make you laugh out loud. There are a few moderate sex scenes but not too many. There are characters you will love and those you will hate. The mystery slowly reveals itself. My only complaint about the story is that the ending seems rather rushed.

This narrator did a fair job with this book. The book is written in such a way that it switches between the two main characters. the narrator didnt leave enough of a pause or inflection to indicate when she changed characters which caused some confusion.

the original narrator for this book is Steven Crossley. He did a far supperior job with this book. i am disappointed that Audible doesnt offer that version. But even if you cant get hold of the original, its still worth listening to.

I always loved Curious George when I was growing up and still find it delightful. That little monkey does manage to get himself in quite the jam though it always turns out alright. these stories reflect the innocence of children and remind us that sometimes it is just curiosity that causes them to do things that turn out bad but that doesn't make them bad kids.

The wonderful story of Little toot who learned that life is not all about playing and that hard work can be both good and rewarding.

This story made me smile. The performance was good, the story is cute, and the music appropriate. Having the pictures to go along with the story really makes it.

My only complaint is in regard to the audible app. the review box pops up in the middle of the book instead of at the end.

I had this book for my kids when they were very little and they loved it. So I decided to check out the audible version. the narrator does a good job but it's way too slow. There's lots of music in between each short sentence. The music was nice but I lost interest less than halfway though due to how slow it is.

I like that they include the pictures to look at while listening, since the pictures are what make the story . If this is your first time listening to this book and looking at the pictures it may not seem that slow to you. But if you are familiar with the story you are likely to be disappointed.

I had difficulty seeing the pictures on my smartphone. I would recommend using a tablet or computer instead.

I remember reading this as a child. Listening to it years later, I am unenchanted with the story. The narrator made great growling noises but the way it was done did not enhance the story in my opinion. I didn't care for the music either. Overall a less than stellar performance but it may be enjoyable for kids.

Persistence & determination - a great YA book.

Alana & her twin brother Tom have a problem. Alana is to be sent to the convent to learn to be a lady and Tom is to go to the palace to learn to be a knight. The trouble is, Tom hates the fighting arts and wants to be a sorcerer. Alana loves the fighting arts but only boys are allowed to be trained. Determined to get their way, the twins switch places, Tom going to the convent to learn magic, Alana posing as a boy and going to the palace. Thus begins Alana's first adventure.

The adventure follows Alana (known as Alan) as she struggles to fit in with the other boys and overcome her own physical limitations. Being smaller than the other boys and being a girl makes "Alan" fearful that she will never be good enough to win her shield. But she refuses to give up. She meets each challenge with renewed determination. She tries harder, trains longer, and pushes herself to the edge of her endurance to prove that she belongs. She struggles to overcome her fear of using her magic, the truth that she has no control over the changes in her body, and the guilt of having to lie to people she has come to love and respect. In spite of it all, "Alan" manages to earn the respect and approval of most of the people around her... even her enemies.

I ran across this book on tape at the library, when my boys were in their early teens and we all loved it. The pace was fast enough to hold my boys interest but not so juvenile that I got bored. I was very impressed at how the author handled the physical changes of growing up. Touching on the subject, making it a real part of the story without getting overly graphic or involved.

If you prefer more complex adult books, you may not like this series, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the characters, the story, and felt that the reader did an excellent job of bringing the story to life.
