Revelation should never be ignored. It’s exciting! Amir helps it be so. Good book overall.

You might get lost in the butchers terms for cuts of meat, or stages of animals lives, or the frequent references to livestock prices and significance thereof probably don’t make any sense to the average listener, but it still follows Ralph’s life and his ups and downs of luck. I enjoyed it just as much as the others!

It’s easy to like the series, especially if you know something about the places Ralph goes to. Good wholesome family listening.

All holocaust survivor stories are heart breaking. This one isn’t any different. This one is different in that it’s her own personal journey and belongs just to her. :) The sorry ends with colloidal hope, but ends abruptly, and you wonder what happens next…

Narrator a strange mix of British, Irish, South African and Colonial India to be reading a story with significant pieces of Americana. Didn’t care for the reader and her but here pronunciation of ‘pedestal, and Yosemite,’ but if you’ve seen the movie, you’ll like the book 10X more!

Harriet Beecher Stowe shows great presence of mind and intelligence in the grammatical and vocabulary use of worlds and phrases through the book. Sometimes I had to think hard about a words meaning.
It’s a hard pill to swallow listening to the cruelties of slavery. Heart wrenching, heartbreaking and utterly disgusting at times throughout the story, but the strong faith and courage shown is unfailing.
The readers voice is warm and welcoming, and when he sings, it’s absolutely lovely.
The story itself starts out very hard to take listening to the banter of trading, but gets going changing from character to character. Don’t stop just yet, but I recommend listening in bite sized chunks.
Faith and hope is the ultimate obvious and underlying theme. And that’s life…

A simple reading of a story any age could easily follow and understand. Enjoyable. Mostly about the family and what they did or didn’t, not alot of outside details, except to give a basic understanding of what was happening and a general timeline. Neither discourages nor supports communism, tyrannical rule or marxism. Just says it as it is. Simple.
