This is such a great way to learn Portuguese! I had been using an app and one of the well known learning methods CD sets, and getting nowhere. I decided to try earworms and I am so glad! I learned all my tourist Portuguese in no time, and so easily! I found it enjoyable, and it has set me up to learn the rest of the language using other methods now that there is something for them to stick to!

Have you been doing everything your naturopath or doctor told you to do, and still feel tired? This is the answer! Even though it is different from everything you have been told, suspend your disbelief, open your mind and listen, and you will be so glad you did!

If you've been following this area, you will learn nothing new from this book. . Lots of the same old drivel about how high cholesterol is bad for your heart and how saturated fat is bad for you, which has not been proven to be true and especially not on a low carbohydrate or no carbohydrate diet. He goes on. about how protein is bad for you without the caveat that all of the studies on protein were studies where the protein was in the presence of carbohydrate. So, of course it's going to turn on the mtor switch!. Your body thinks it's having a feast! It now looks like you can eat protein if you're in ketosis. or without the presence of carbohydrates without the same problems. He also recommends ketosis but has no detailed information on how to go into ketosis, or what helps when people get the keto flu, etc. He talks about fasting but doesn't detail how to do it (what helps people, whether you should increase electrolytes or how to refeed.) He recommends a 5-day fast with no information at all about how to do that or what the difficulties might be. Lots of old information here, nothing new.

If you have lost someone, read this book. If someone you love has lost someone, read this book. It contains all the (vital) information that you need to know during this time.

I thought this book was very helpful and really highlighted the ways people trip up in trying to achieve ketosis. The only negative comment I have is that he did not talk enough about the importance of only adding healthy fat. A ketogenic diet based on soybean oil/canola oil is dangerous, while a ketogenic diet based on coconut oil/avocado oil,/grass fed butter is healthy! This is an important distinction I wish he had emphasized more. Other than that, I think this book is a great resource.

This book differs from the full 5/2 diet book and contradicts it. The original 5/2 diet book states you should eat 500-600 calories on your fast days and eat normally on the other days. This book says to lower your calories some percentage on all the days, and then also have the fast days. This is NOT what the original 5/2 recommends at all. I can see lots of ways this would defeat the purpose by making it really difficult. It would be like being on a regular diet (hard enough) and then having two days where you fast (harder) and then going back to (difficult) regular diet. I think you would probably slow your metabolism with the dieting all the time and start feeling really deprived. The whole point of the 5/2 is that you do not slow your metabolism because you are not dieting all the time and your metabolism doesn't get used to less calories, and you get all the benefits of fasting because it is not hard to do it only two days a week knowing you will not be deprived tomorrow!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Virgin Diet to be better than the print version?

Yes I learned so much while I was driving!

What other book might you compare The Virgin Diet to and why?

The Hormone Cure. Both have loads of info and have changed the way I live.

What does J. J. Virgin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I don't know

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes actually, it was that interesting

Any additional comments?

I don't understand why the other reviewer said there was not enough info on the foods to replace the 7, she offers tons of ideas and states why they are better for you, and loads of research is cited.
