Plot good, performance not so much
Revisado: 11-04-24
I liked the story, but didn’t care for the performance. Celia’s voice was fine, but all the others irritated the heck out of me. I almost didn’t finish because of it.

Historia
Ever since I met my handsome husband Dr Gabe Bonneville, I started playing the role of the perfect housewife. He works hard as a surgeon, so I look after our home, and throw elaborate dinner parties with champagne cocktails for his best friends Hugh and Anita. He’s my safe place and my chance to have the family I’ve always wanted. I’ve managed to hide the mornings when I wake up and see a face in the shadows. I haven’t told Gabe the truth about the woman who raised me, or told him about the therapy I’ve been getting so my secrets stay hidden in the dark.

Pretty Good
Revisado: 10-22-24
I like the writing style, and the book definitely kept me interested. The only part I wasn’t crazy about was knowing who did it and that the psychiatrist clicking the pen wasn’t…irrelevant. If you saw the movie “Get Out”, you know what I mean. I didn’t have the “why” of it all figured out though. That twist was a surprise. I’ll definitely read the whole series and anything else the author writes.

Historia
Against the backdrop of the Vietnam War—with the ongoing saga of his draft status and other historical events of the time—Ron White’s adventures, at home and in numerous locations around the world, began with a schoolboy yearning to travel. His quest was to explore the world as well as to escape. With the tragic loss of several of his best friends, and being the victim of endless abuse at home, it was travel and music that kept him sane. If you lived during this era, the pages of this inspirational book drip with nostalgia; if you’re too young, then you can be wonderfully ...

Virtual Voice Narration is awful
Revisado: 10-15-24
I had to quit. The mispronunciations and borderline monotonous narration are absolutely terrible. I hope this isn’t the trend and I’ll cancel Audible if it is.

Lauren and Kelsey: married, a baby on the way, and now the new owners of the Hudson Valley house they’ve always admired. The timing couldn’t be better, and the leafy, secluded area couldn’t be more beautiful. Everything’s perfect—except for the older gentleman across the street, who seems to be keeping a very close watch on them. Welcome to the neighborhood.

It was okay
Revisado: 10-03-24
Overall, I enjoyed the story, though there wasn’t quite enough information in it. What was up with the vault? Why didn’t she go back and find out what was in it after things settled down? Someone took the time to put drywall over brick in order to keep it hidden, so it must have held something important.

The twist…. Also I like the novella length because it’s quick and to the point, which is pretty much my attention span. Will definitely seek out more books by this author.

Historia
When Margaret and her husband Hal bought the large Victorian house on Hawthorn Street—for sale at a surprisingly reasonable price—they couldn’t believe they finally had a home of their own. Then they discovered the hauntings. Every September, the walls drip blood. The ghosts of former inhabitants appear, and all of them are terrified of something that lurks in the basement. Most people would flee. Margaret is not most people. Margaret is staying.

Boring
Revisado: 01-02-24
This book is so boring, I can’t finish it. At first I thought the author was setting the scene, but it never took off. I have no idea what is even happening at this point, and I’m too bored to stick it out.
