The Truth Behind That Thing about Pam
Revisado: 07-22-22
Before you watch the Movie, you need to listen to this! This breaks it all down & covers the questions you may have. Read the articles on Pam Hupp that Detectives and Russ give in interviews regarding the Movie. Dateline has long been a show based on outstanding research, backed with integrity & respect as well as diligently reporting a story with facts and proof to backup their investigation. They are as good at what they do as any seasoned & professional Detective would put out in a case & they work together to present an accurate timeline & everything that’s needed so that in the end, all that is presented is the undeniable truth with compassion for any victims & families. I’ll end up watching the show after I’ve finished reading the case & listening to interviews from 2011 on up. But I noted that commercials for the mini-series were strange because they were laughing & acting like The Truth about Pam was more like a party with Pamela Anderson than with Pam Hupp. I thought it odd that there was joking & jubilation surrounding the movie rather than fear & dismay over what this woman did to destroy 3 (& more including victims) People’s lives. “Despicable” was the name used to describe Renee Zellwiger’s portrayal as it was not considered serious. It was deemed a joke, & that Russ got a bad deal out of it as well. Dateline said 48 hrs of interviewing Russ, but a Detective claimed 24? Russ never wavered from his account but Pam Hupp becomes a star witness against him in court? I want the story to be considered accurate & as tragic as it really was. The only ones who can really do that are Russ, the detectives $ Dateline. All the rest is just, well…Hollywood….
Take it for what it’s worth. Not as good as “Pam & Tommy”, but not worthy of a Dateline review! More like a cheesy 6 - part miniseries aimed at ratings. Oh, & I think Renee looks very much like herself. I’d recognize her anywhere. - Suzi Pethtal

Historia
The tragic story of Susan Powell and her murdered boys, Charlie and Braden, is the only case that rivals the Jon Benet Ramsey saga in the annals of true crime. When the pretty, blonde Utah mother went missing in December of 2009 the media was swept up in the story - with lenses and microphones trained on Susan's husband, Josh. He said he had no idea what happened to his young wife, and that he and the boys had been camping in the middle of a snowstorm.

Long winded, incredibly detailed and depressing. Lot of hard work went into this. Ultimately I wondered if I could ever read another book like this. Hard to believe because no one did anything to stop Josh. Susan’s body has never been found. And what Josh does to himself & those boys is incomprehensible. One sick father-in-law Steve. I still think he was in on this cover up. Brother Michael is barely mentioned so why bother? Then ending left me so empty & shaken. Sick to my stomach because DSHS was too slow to act. So we’re the Police! 3 yrs & nothing… then finally, oh wait! It’s TOO Late!

I cried when it ended! The most amazing, dysfunctional, out of control addict ever! Move over Nikki Sixx! You’ve got Great Company! This woman is fearless! Crazy! Hilarious & so sad all at once! But her fortitude & strength, her perseverance are unstoppable! She exemplifies true grit, & has the tenacity to overcome all her addictions & obstacles. Outstanding book. I actually listened to it in 2 days. I’d say non-stop, but I went to sleep. I felt like I knew her personality, & like we knew it was coming…! But when it finally did, it was like, OH NO! Not yet! Powerful! Really great read! I want to meet this lady! Her bluntness is refreshing in that she doesn’t “Romance the Drug” like so many Rockers do, but she explains every nuance, second & experience of what she did, & then she hits you with the repercussions! Brilliantly worded & put together! Thanks Amy! I miss you already! LOL!

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

Daisy Jones would never have made it in Rock & Roll during the 70’s!
Revisado: 06-04-22
I have to admit I loved this book & eventually got used to 21 people reciting lines! I love the authenticity of several people performing the main characte’s of the book, but this is a bit much! Kinda like a Ping-Pong match in overdrive! It can be distracting! I was 17 yrs old in 1975, & there is no real comparison with other decades or generations. The 70’s & 80’s really were the best times to grow up! Rock music evolved, transformed & redefined itself during those yrs! The author has done her homework on that decade & her character’s are so rich & full of life that you easily become attached to them! Except…(you knew that was coming!) for Daisy Jones! I found her to be too millennial or Gen Z, & not this strong, confident woman of the 70’s. She comes off as very Diva, before even being discovered. Narcissistic, bitch, rude, self-absorbed, and cold. And (Spoiler alert!) when she starts having feelings for Billy & wants to pursue their relationship farther, I don’t like her! She doesn’t handle rejection at all! I adored the relationship of Billy & Camila because they seem so in love & honestly devoted to each other! I understand though how easy it would be to become drawn to your band partner working so close together! I expected it too. But I found the adoration & “worldwide “ worship of Daisy to be funny! She doesn’t do anything to be looked up to! Drugs & alcohol! Not even Sex! Except with her “husband “ of course. But strutting around in flimsy outfits that at times may seen inappropriate, with the attitude that I can wear anything I want because I’m Daisy! They greatest, most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen “ & ensuring people know what she has just kind of made me squirm! She doesn’t come off as sexy, or feminine or alluring. Just demanding. Towards the end I felt sorry for her & had to forgive her, because perhaps the author wants us to feel bad for her! To realize she’s probably never been in love before. Or at least with the right man. Her self destructive behavior is depressing. She has no life except singing & writing songs! But the ending touched me!? I had to shed a tear! I wish the author would have had Billy picking up the phone & ending the book with “a woman’s voice answered saying, “Hello?” That one extra step! X’s ilia left the Note dated Nov. 12th, 2012 & later Billy says “it’s been 5 yrs now”. That’s more than enough time to start mending. Graham is a great character as is Karen! But I hate the way that ended, except I totally understand. I could never have made that decision & I think it should have been discussed more between those 2! It was not a one way street. All in all, there was so much I loved about it! The details on recording, & studio sessions, the really excellent songs the author wrote! I honestly think they should be recorded! I write lyrics but I was impressed with these! I can’t wait to watch the mini series when they finally air it.,This will be fun to watch! Last note: Billy’s character blew me away with his honest assessment’s of his feelings & how he remained strong even when temptation was everywhere! His character is what helped me forgive Daisy. I would love to see a sequel to this. I really like this author & already have 2 more books of hers to read. I just didn’t agree with Daisy. But she amazed me with all the rest! Beautifully done!

Hell’s Angel’s & Hunter Thompson
Revisado: 05-30-22
Excellent account of the comrade & eventual demise of a short lived relationship between wanderer’s. Hunter’s curiosity leads to some hilarious & some frightening exposure of the Angel’s Melee of madness over one year as an exposé on the most feared MC in the world. Lots of antidotes & drinking abound. In the end, Hunter seems to quietly separate himself from the raucous as 1966 comes to a close. A great read! I loved the commitment & the bond of the Angels. Not that I’d ever want to sit through a party with them! Just a ride down the highway once or twice! I was discouraged over no photos. But then, I never get pics with Audible. If their present, it’s as an attachment. Interesting differences about the times in 1965 & 1966 compared to today, 2022! The world has surly changed! On to Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas! I’m crazy about Hunter now! Wonderful story teller! I’m glad I chose the one 1st!

I couldn’t stop listening! It’s so informative & fascinating! I’ve been interested in & love all forms of Forensics & this book is a double delight because the author includes wonderful information on the victims. Not just how they died. Great detail went into this book! I cried at several places when he talked about the family’s. I can’t wait to read more by him, & I’d Love to find more info on how NecroSearch is doing these days! Fantastic book! Not to technical! Very easy to understand! Sincerely. Suzi P.

poll we shouldn't mess with. In the end, I felt like it was OK to go where it went, kind of a sigh of relief and one of exhaustion from just imagining it! And it seemed a Just Reward for all the hard work Jake/George had to go through. I really was glad it was over and totally happy that if it had to be addressed and redone, that it worked out this way! And add me to the Conspiracy Notions. I've researched it so well for several years and I'm a True Believer in The Conspiracy THEORY.

Absolutely Addictive! Pulsating!
Revisado: 06-27-16
Although it seemed to take a minute to get off the ground and get into the book, knowing it was a Robin Cook book sets the tone that soon you will be immersed into the narrative in no time. And before I knew it I was almost done when I took my first break! By then the main characters were well grounded in my core like family. By the time I hit chapter 31 I was worried sick about Jennifer, wondering when they were going to get anyone to help them with her Grandmother's case, and how Nurses International was going to play out. I couldn't move the last 5 chapters because the pace is so fast you don't realize it's over. I actually cried out and then cried like a baby at the end.
Truly worthy of listening to, I can't wait to start my next book! Robin Cook just keeps me glued to my chair! Bravo! 😂 Bravo!😂
